This years NYR casino night is coming up, I believe Feb 28th. Has anyone been to casino night? I know the cheapest ticket is 500, but it seems awesome. Can you take pictures with the players? I know you cannot ask for autographs.
I went two years ago and it was pretty fun. Got pictures with all of the players - had a nice conversation with Prust since he had just been traded the week before and nobody seemed to know who he was. Plus, there was an open bar. Wanted to go again this year but all of my friends are broke. boo.
Also, they say no autographs, but I saw people getting small items like pucks and ticket stubs signed.
I've gone several times. It's fun and you get to meet and talk to the players. And there are auctions, both a "silent" one where you bid on items displayed around the room, and one that Sam hosts at the end of the night. And whatever chips you have left at the end of the night, you can use them to try to win stuff.
It is expensive though. It used to be 250 a ticket but they raised it to 500 several years back. It's hard to get anyone to go with me at that price.
