Mark this for posterity. I agree with you 100% for the first time.

The team thinks Price can win all the games for them.. news flash boys.. you gotta score to win games. Budaj should have started and this game is my vindication on that point.

This needs to be quoted 100 times. I mean the reason why teams like Columbus and NYI are always bad is because their young players are thrown to the wolves in roles they can't handle (matchups) because they don't have the veterans to handle those roles. We have Tomas Plekanec playing against third liners right now. Putting a 22 year old develloping player in that role works against teams with bad top lines or very bad defence, it doesn't work against the Caps. Most 22 year old aren't PK Subban, they can't all handle that right away.

Bell Centre wouldn't be full that's for sure. Like the late 90's, empty seats that's for sure.

I like Kaberle... He would be good in a team where Weber Diaz don't play... 3 of them is too much... It sounds stupid after this game but I would try to shake up the defence...

Maybe something like

Emelin Subban
Kaberle Gorges
Gill Diaz

A puck moving with a stay at home on each pair could help I don't know just throwing it outtheir

So about 40% of the game so far this season, we've score 2 goals or under.

With Price not playing in god mode, its pretty normal that we are where we are. Also, add we are freaking last on PP. Tonight was another game we lost because of our suckiness on the PP.

So for the people blaming Price only for our disaster season. Shut the **** up. I know he's not really good so far this season but the team in front of him is a ****ing disaster too.
I don't think that anybody blames solely Price. But when you come to a Price debate, you do come to the conclusion that he was been average/good this year. But again, everybody with a sane mind knows it's way more than that.

Soz for re-posting this, Just really intrigued of hearing someone else point of view.

Anyone else think Plek could of have asked if he wanted to be traded?

I mean, out of nowhere, he just went in to the blue and stoped producing.. and he has a (NTC or Limited NTC) if I'm not mistaken... Which would require PG to ask permission prior to a trade...

I'm not speculating/rumoring, hoping, or anything. I'm just wondering. So don't judge/flame me, I know it isn't the happiest mood in here, I'm just curious on knowing if it COULD be a possibility

Remember that thread that you started in appreciation of Gauthier?

Gauthier traded for Kaberle. Gauthier signed Diaz. Gauthier has Weber in Montreal instead of Hamilton. And you left out Campoli.

You might think about starting a new thread.

Very well. Then he let him walk, tryed to Claim Betts off waivers and then traded Trotter and a 7th for Nokelainen and he is a healthy scratch. How people still defend Gauthier is beyond me

With the average NHL club scoring around 2.70 goals, I figure that's pretty typical.

The problem is in the distribution, I think. Following this game, and discounting empty-netters and shootouts, Montreal has been outscored by only two goals. This isn't amazing, but it should be enough to win half your games and secure a playoff spot if the goals are distributed somewhat evenly. They've lost entirely too many games by one goal.

When was the last time we had a competent GM? Andre Savard was decent..I guess Serge Savard was the last real good one..

Matter of fact, youngsters should get traded. Unless a significant return comes our way, it makes no sense. Eller will be good.
He has the same amount of points as last season, in 35 less games. Not too shabby in terms of progression.
He only has 5 less points than Plekanec at ES. Give him regular shifts on the PP, even if we're horrible there, you could give him some extra points.

He will be just fine. Just like Plekanec, it will end up clicking and things will pick up for him.
Randy might somehow make him bust. If he gets matched against Malkin only to end up benched next game I'll begin to get really worried.

You clearly didn't understand my thread.

The whole point was that Gauthier made REASONABLE moves at every turn. I'm not in love with the guy but this season, and games like tonight, are as much the players and coaches fault as they are the GMs.

I liked Andre Savard, should have been given a chance, never was. Made a huge deal in getting us Zednik and Bulis, that was a hell of a deal. Also Savard always said he wanted to draft Jeff Carter but other's in the Org. decided to go with Kostitsyn
