Regardless of value the Habs wouldn't do this.

They have Eller who plays a similar style to MPS and a 2nd doesn't do much. Plekanec has been consistently the best player on the Habs for the last couple of years and it would take more than fair value to get him. Oilers would either have to switch MPS with Eberle or make the 2nd a 1st.

I can't see Montreal trading Carey Price, He's easily there best player hands down, and will have more of an impact on a game then Eberle tbh.

no chance from the oilers...price may be good, but it's be proven many times that you don't need an "elite" goaltender to win in the new NHL, teams like chicago (corey crawford) detroit (jimmy howard) all won cups withoute having "elite" goaltenders. As good as price is and will be, goalies just aren't worth as much to teams as goal scorers. Just look at the draft...how many goalies get picked in the top 10, compared to point-getters?

like i said price is an awesome goalie (top 3 IMO) but there is no chance his value is anywhere near a 22 yr old ppg first line winger.
howard and crawford don't have cups, they just happen to play for teams that have won cups recently.

There is no goaltender I would trade Eberle for. With all due respect.

TO MONTREAL
Jordan Eberle
Devan Dubnyk

TO EDMONTON
Carey Price
As much as Eberle is having a break out year, no way Montreal moves Price.

Not even in the ballpark. Plekanec is signed to a very reasonable contract for 4+ more years and one of the better 2 way centers in the NHL. Would take a big time offer to move him(see Richards to LA) at least.

This is what we call a lose-lose. No way Edmonton does this. Eberle is a fan favourite and brings a lot of heart to his team. He is probably a lifer with the oilers.

Price is nowhere near a star franchise goalie ,where is this crap come from ?? he hasn't stole a game this year so far .Goalie are ridiculously overrated......top 15 goalie are extremely close and most of them are easily interchangeable.

they are alot of "average" goalie who did very well in Montreal ( Halak , theodore, Huet ) Price is not special and he's not elite.

Give me that kid Eberle !

Price is good but the value of goalies in the trade market is never as high as it seems. If Eberle turns out to be a regular PPG forward, doubt Oilers would do something like this.

This. Do you think it's going to be easier to acquire a #1 goalie or young winger that's scoring at over a PPG?

Price is worth way more than Eberle and would guarantee the Oil make the playoffs next year. Montreal would want a center instead so how about RNH +++ for Price?

I would hate to see eberle traded but if it got the oilers price, I would get over it. Oilers not going anywhere with current tenders.

Edmonton's problem is defense, not goaltending. To see 0.904 goaltending playing in front of multiple rookie defensemen?

Tonight, Jeff Petry played 26:22. More than any other player. Khabibulin ended up with 0.974 SP, and a loss. Not saying that Petry (who has been playing first line minutes) is the problem.

You can't play rookie D first line minutes and win - regardless of the goalie.

Pass.

I always thought Montreal fans knew a thing or two about hockey. Guess I was completely mistaken.

I fail to see why the Habs do that. Eberle is an excellent player, but who's playing net in Montreal? Dubnyk and Budaj? Really?
