Schenn got KTFO by that huge right cross from Kovalchuk... that's gotta hurt, right on the chin too.

I wouldn't trade Schenn, Couturier, Read, or JVR for anything short of Shea Weber at this point.

I can't tell whether you're joking or not.

But seriously--I don't remember whether Schenn came back into the game / served his penalty after that fight.

Anyone?

He was on the ice after serving the major.

He's fine and was one of the few things that looked good about the team today. Besides, there's no chance in hell he's missing Thursday's game against his brother.

I can see why for the longest time Lombardi did not want to part with him.....

Man I haven't felt this good about our rookies since 85-86.....awesome future. Thank you Carter and Richards for your assistance in netting us such a cornucopia of talent

Schenn's two hits in a row reminds me of Eric Lindros's two in a row here:

It's not in this thread, but I wondered where "the best player not in the NHL" was at one point during the season. I wasn't bashing him, just hadnt seen what everyone was raving about.... until last night. If that's what this kid is/can bring every night, then holy ****. He showed me more than enough last night to have confirmed what all the praise was about. Sick game out of him, here's hoping he can bring some of that every night.

As far as I am concerned we gave up 1 player with heart and got 4 back (maybe 5 with Cousins). I felt like I was watching Team Canada the way Schenn was playing.

Schenn obviously had a great game, but I'm hoping when the series comes here, that he has that game where he truly becomes a Flyer.

Claude Giroux had that game in 2009, he was kind of coming on after being recalled from the Phantoms, but in Game 3 vs. the Penguins in 2009, he had that fight that wasn't called a fight, but he whooped Tyler Kennedy, and then after the Flyers coughed up a 2-0 lead (giving up goals with 12 seconds left in the 1st, and 13 into the 2nd), he scored a goal, and had that great shorthanded setup to Simon Gagne, and the Flyers never looked back.

Schenn was the only Flyer playing in the first period. I was astounded with his physical play last night.

to be honest; i'd rather claude giroux have a game like that than schenn. he was completely ineffective in game 1, he's gotta get going if we're going to win this series.

on another note. does anyone see future captain potential with Schenn? i initially thought when he came here that he was a guy who could have that potential in the future, but probably wouldn't get the opportunity in philly.... if this is any indication of the player he's going to become on a consistent basis, i'm not so certain he won't.

That's the beauty of offensive depth. Pittsburgh spent all their effort trying to shut down Giroux that Briere and Schenn owned them.

Agreed. Now the question is, will Bylsma for game 2 react? And attempt to shut down the Briere/Schenn line or keep doing what he is to Giroux?

Schenn was absolutely awesome last night. Hitting, finishing and making plays. I have to say, I was ecstatic when they tied it at 3.

This is exactly why Schenn was the #1 rated prospect in the NHL, this is what he is projected to be and do. Thankfully for us, he had a slow start in L.A and that put a ton of pressure on them to make a quick resolution type move

I was looking at the Pens board after the game and several of them are calling for Bylsma to be fired and for the team to be retooled.

If we can jump out on them early tomorrow night, I think it will demoralize them and the series could end extremely quickly.

Schenn reminiscing style of the Big E last night brought me to tears.

It was truly a sight to see. Not many players have that kind of game and when I spot one that does it reminds me of Big E every time. Schenn had it going from the start and has a lot of heart for a young rookie.

As long as he keeps rotating 4 defenseman instead of 6, it won't matter who he tries to shut down.
