Burke and Murray Talking About Ryan

There's a rumor on nhl.com today courtesy of Dan Rosen;

"There are rumors that Murray could be talking to Burke about a deal involving Bobby Ryan." - Dan Rosen

Another trade to the Maple Leafs to make the Ducks even worse? Look at Lupul now, wouldn't it be nice if he was still playing 2nd line winger for Anaheim!?!?!?

Honestly who would be coming back for Anaheim in this trade?

Less the Duck fans would expect to get and more than Leaf fans would expect to give

I'd have to believe Kadri or Kulemin going back the other way.

The Ducks have also expressed interest in Holzer.

bobby isn't bad at center, but who wouldn't want him on the ice. And yes, NHL.com doesn't seem to post much about the ducks, which scares me that this could in fact be a possibility...

Well....Wilson has supposedly moved Lupol on a line with Connelly and Kadri and Lombardi with Bozak and Kessel. To Hell with center,i'm pretty sure Ryan would be a little better than Lombardi...no?

Well asside from this being no more then mere speculation at this point. Deals can change at any time so if its not imminent then its really nothing more then talking and negotiating (something that murray is doing with plenty other GM's outside of Burke *Vice Versa*). But to answer the op question if a trade involving the leafs and anaheim were to go down i think this is who will be involved

To Anaheim
Luke Schenn
Mikhail Grabovski
Korbinian Holzer

To Toronto
Bobby Ryan
+ *** (something that can fill Holzer's spot on the marlies)

Dammit, im a little reluctant to give up valuable assets to strengthen a position rather than fill a need.

I guess, but have a PPG+ player on the 3rd line should suggest pretty good wing depth

Is it possible to just have a hockey team with no centers? Just have two left wingers and one right winger on every line. The opposition will win every faceoff by default but that's okay, we got Booby and Philbert

I was refering to Lombo being on the "1st" line with Kessel at practice. And according to Wilson on FAN590 this morning, for tonights game as well.

I would bet there hasn't been many weeks go by, that Burke hasn't inquired about Ryan...

It's evident that Bobby Ryan is the draft pick that Burke is most proud of... It won't surprise me if Ryan does become a Leaf... I'm just wondering how much is too much when it comes to compensation?

I would think Schenn+Kadri is a mere formality if it happened... But what else? That's already a lot.

I dont see how. Anaheim gets depth out of this deal a quality core player and equal cap comes in as going out. Grabovski's production at this point equals what Ryan brings to the table, of course its unfortunate that grabo is unsigned but this puts anaheim into the best possition to resign grabo.
