Main boards says Repik was waived

Didn't know he was waiver eligible, and hasn't be been called up before?

Don't want to lose him for nothing, but we just don't have room.

it would be a travesty if he got claimed. Very stupid move imo.

Well, it wouldn't...but again, wtf do you do when you literally have no room? How is it stupid?

Yeah, he was waiver eligible in training camp but no one claimed him when he was sent down. Somone might this time though, but what else are we to do? We have 15 forwards when healthy, NOT including Repik.

Considering he's been our best player for the last 2 weeks or so. Also upshall when he was healthy did little to warrant earning a roster spot. Repik played his heart out and deserves to stay.

I dont know if santorelli is on a 2 way contract but this scrub does not deserve to be playing in the nhl right now. Repik does.

Would be disappointing to lose him, but with the other players returning I always saw him getting waived.

Neither Upshall or Santorelli are getting sent down. If we were Toronto then we could afford that, but Repik has a two-way so that's why he's getting sent down.

Possible dumb question - if he is on a two-way contract doesn't that mean we don't have to waive him?

I always get confused about this stuff... And am confused now about Repik.

Waivers apply to two way contracts. Two way just means they are paid different numbers at both levels. He makes a certain number in the AHL, and a separate number in the NHL.

Coolburn is great with this stuff, he would know for sure.

He's gonna get claimed, I'm guessing CBJ.

It's probably like baseball.

The two-way part just means he's paid a different # to play in the A, but there's only a certain # of times you can recall a player and send him back before he's eligible for waivers. As MR said, Repik was already put on waivers earlier in the year and went unclaimed so this is no surprise. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get claimed this time.

There's literally nothing that can be done at this point; it's a business and it's simply a numbers game.

Wow brutal. Looked great last night and has been looking great recently. Don't care about half these scrubs up with the team right now like Barch, Skille, Santorelli, or Madden. They all can go 10 times over because we have multiple players just like all of them. Offensive skill is limited on this team right now and Repik has shown some flashes of it. Maybe he'll put it together and he was looking like he was going with some great confidence last night, especially after we shipped out Dads. He probably figured that meant they were committing to him over Dadonov since they were both similar players. If we lose him, I'm going to be pissed.

Not a dumb question and is easily confused by many people. And some of the above is correct that others have stated (regarding what 2-way contracts mean about pay).

To be waiver eligible, it doesn't matter if you have a 2-way deal or not. The deciding factor of when a player is waiver eligible is when they signed their first contract and how many games they have played professionally. Repik has played too many games at the AHL and NHL level by now so that's why he had to be waived.

Thanks for the clarification all! I'm terrible when it comes to anything related to salaries/contracts/terms etc.

Well, fingers crossed he doesn't get claimed. If he leaves -do you think we'd try to trade to bring him back?

Hey AG devils fans on the main board are starting to piss me off again. Can you confirm a similar experience during your days as a ranger fan?

But he was playing good. Why would Tallon do this? Freaking waive Santos if you dont have no more room or someone else.

I'm not sure our assistant GM has done anything to deserve being put on waivers.

It's a shame we couldn't have kept Repik and somehow got rid of Santorelli.

Couldn't we just not activate someone from IR until we make room or is that not allowed?
