The team has obviously quit on him so might as well get rid of him.

I'm surprised that so many of them think he shouldn't be fired.

If he was fired he would get a boatload of offers from other teams immediately.

He absolutely needs to get out of Buffalo. He feels no pressure, has no drive. He's a routine now, and it's not a winning routine.

I think Ruff's time in Buffalo may soon be up after 15 seasons. He's a good coach, however, and would probably be a head coach for another team the day after he was let go by Buffalo.

It's always the coach that pays for the mistakes made by the GM (or owner).

Both of these are 100% correct.

Yeah, no excuses for a team that should be a playoff team to be playing this badly.

YES. He's a good coach, but the team needs to be restructured, and I think Ruff needs to be let go. He's just been in Buffalo for too long.

No. They will get back on track. I think it is a shame how quickly some teams jump to fire their coach. i know he has been there for a looooong time, but he has seen it all. If players don't respond to a guy like Lindy it is on the players. I think ownership is more to blame for trying to be the Philadelphia Eagles and give too much money to players who had a good april. He should stay.

I think that he needs to go, but the expectations the Sabres fans had for their team before the season started were unrealistic IMHO. The best thing for the Sabres would be to take a good hard look at their roster and to try to do something similar to what Philly did this past offseason (apart from signing Bryz).

Should he be fired for their poor performance? No.

Will he be fired because there's no easier way to make a significant change to the team? Yes.

Will he get a new NHL coaching job without a problem? Very much yes.

Agreed on all points. It's the easiest way to shake things up. They may like him, they may know what's right, but right now, they're playing stupid, uninspired hockey. It's time for a change.

Coach should always get a 5 year timeline to show something. Ruff hasn't done squatt in the last 5 years to shows he should continue being the head coach in Buffalo. Should be fired.

Most had mid-level playoff finish in mind. Through 45 games, they've lost over 200 games to injury so far, basically putting four regulars out of the lineup on any given night. Their depth isn't that deep to overcome having #5/6/7 defensemen playing #2/3 minutes or having AHL filler plugged into mid-tier lines.

He's a good coach, not with Buffalo.
