Bam! Right in the kisser(any suggestions on reducing swelling)

At drop in today my stick re-directed the puck and it hit me square in the lip.

My whole left side lip is swollen. Anyone have any suggestions on reducing swelling?

I wear a visor, but pretty convinced I'll go full-cage now. Oh yeah, and my mouthguard probably saved my choppers too.

Ice and Ibprofen. Goodthing you had a mouth guard in. I dont understand how some guys dont wear them, especially if you play without a cage.

Ice will help prevent any more swelling and numb the area, but it won't help what's there reabsorb. Anti-inflammatory drugs like advil are much the same thing along with some pain control.

After that, all you can do is wait it out. Swelling reaches its peak 24-48 hours after the original contact.
