Riley Sheahan had 1G, 1A
Ferraro had 1G
Tatar had 1A
Minard had a hatty and added an assist
Conner also had 4A
and McCollum had saved 38/40 in a 6-2 Win
Wooo Hoo good to read Sheahan is producing points!
I honestly think Conner would be a better option than Emmerton for the playoffs. Especially if Helm is out for round 1. We could use his speed in the bottom 6 to create opportunities just like Helm does.
I still want to see a Conner-Helm-Mursak line just for ****s and giggles.

I think that's the type of move the Wings would make. Emmerton has improved a lot this year but he still cant play more than maybe 6 mins a game. The fourth line needs to become more competitive. THey need to be able to play closer to 10 mins a game. To me, that's why the Helm injury hurts so bad (lack of centres). Going into the playoffs I'd like to see:
I dont like having to put Miller at centre but I think this beats a fourth with Emmerton (and I dont even hate on Emmerton like a lot of posters on these boards)
Calle back on the scoresheet with an assist today, a great 3-0 road win for Brynas. Now leads series 3-1. I think the best part about his line is that they're +9 in the playoffs. They're playing responsible hockey yet producing offensively.
Backman just won the J20 championship aswell. Had an assist in the final, as they came from behind 0-2 to win 3-2 in overtime against HV71. Backman led all defensemen in scoring in the playoffs with 2+6 in 6 games, tied 4th overall.
Not every practice but using them when he had a couple practices before their next game
regardless, its an odd time to switch. i suppose making 40+ saves most every game of the year annihilated the straps on his old pads and they were beyond repair.
Jokerit begin their semifinal series on Wednesday (opponent to be determined today), Pulkkinen is back to full training with the SM-liiga squad. Coach Westerlund confirmed that Pulu has been injured and because he couldn't train at 100%, he was left out of the squad. "He's been able to play but not train. You can't anesthetize every day but now he's able to train normally." He most likely won't play in the first semifinal game though.
The poster at Jatkoaika.com with more info on his injury said it's an ankle injury that occurred somewhere at the end of the regular season and he played the those games anesthetized. Unfortunately he twisted that ankle in the last regular season game. He tested the ankle in training and it got twisted again in a harmless looking situation. They decided not to burden the ankle with training but to keep him in gameshape by playing with the A-juniors. After the second A-juniors final it was decided that since it bothered his playing too much that it was better to rest it.
Just saw that Marek Tvrdon will be joining your farm team for the remainder of their season. He's a very talented player, performed well in the Giants' regular season but wasn't an impact in the playoff series.
Hopefully he returns to the Giants next year, 'cause we need all the help we can get with Gallagher leaving next year

You're on the right track. Babs has some tricks up his sleeve. Some playoffs he changed the 3rd and/or 4th lines around and had different plays & d-sets for the playoffs

no worries there, pretty sure he's too young to play in the AHL(excluding ATOs obviously) and no way he makes the NHL next year
excited to see what he can do in the AHL the rest of this year though

Anyone know how long an ATO can last? Like in theory, could it last an entire season, or like max two weeks?
Normally I think it's between 10-14 days, but with NHL prospects it's the time frame between the end of the prospect's amateur season and the end of the NHL's AHL affiliate season. For European players I think it's the same principal except replace amateur team with, team.
Calle scored the series clinching goal! Nice fake shot-deke and then put into open net. Brynas moves on to the final, their first final appearance since 1999.

I think I remember there being a time limit on an ATO, and usually it's the remainder of a season...kinda wondering if there's a wordage loophole.
Something like signing Jurco to an ATO for the year.
Is that possible? I try to keep up on these kind of issues, but this is a question I can't answer.
We would gladly keep him for a while...if the Giants were still in the WHL Playoffs. Unfortunately not, so he's all yours for the foreseeable future.
Well it seems like intensity/consistency is more than a fair issue for him, which can be said for a lot of young players but that's what separates good prospects from just plain old prospects. The playoffs are pretty telling about where a prospect is right now. Jurco's playoff performance last year made the Wings THAT much more interested in him. If anything you just hope they play a little better each time but definitely not perform worse. I hope Tvrdon can put to rest such criticisms next year.
didn't he have 6 points in 6 games, I'm not positive on that but if that's true it doesn't sound to bad
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that 5 of those 6 points were in the first 2 games. Probably he was targetted defensively a little stronger in the last 4 games to be held to only 1 point, but it still speaks a bit to his inconsistency. I can't say I'm overly concerned about it, though, since he did seem to have a pretty strong year overall, in terms of stats.
