Briere flew with the team to Florida (scheduled father/son trip). Considering he was diagnosed with a concussion, to me, says doctors felt comfortable enough that it isn't to the point where it was felt flying should be prevented. I'm not sure there's a strong correlation between flying and a concussion but turbulence or changes in pressurized cabins can be uncomfortable for even head colds.

JVR, who didn't travel to Florida, was reported to be "progressing" yesterday but that can mean anything with concussions.

The team doesn't practice until Monday.

I'm curious, with JVR out with a concussion, does anyone think he might also be nursing and hopefully getting his abdomen problem fixed (if he has one)?

I think he has an abdominal tear and a hip impingement. The hip will require surgery; the tear shouldn't, so hopefully that will be healed up when he gets back.

The tear may also need surgery. Isn't that what Versteeg had last year?

True, but he needs to stay active - if he intends to play the year through that cam he needs to pretty much use it everyday - it's a crappy injury.

Stationary bike or something like it would probably be good enough. Nothing strenuous, just enough to keep the joint moving. Point being that it would still afford him okenty of restf or his other injuries.
