Voting for "King" Richard Brodeur. Mostly due to the 1982 cup run.

Agreed.

I think he should be higher up though.

Like him or not, Cooke was a pretty big part of the franchise. Scored a few humongous goals for us in the playoffs.

He had 1.

That one with Jovo jumping in the box is a pretty hollow legacy considering the circumstances.

That was the one I was referring to, I was demeaning the Game 7 Calgary one.

Well, still.. game seven against our most bitter rival at the time, and Cooke is our only player to score, and he scores twice, with one of them being one of the more clutch goals I've ever seen. It's not his fault that Malik sucks on the penalty kill in overtime.

He also tied for team lead in points in round 1 of 2002.

And he gave everything, every shift... and he was making peanuts for six years which enabled us to ice a better team..

I don't care that he hurt Marc Savard three years after he left. He was great as a Canuck, and certainly worthy of being considered among the top 45.

At least to me, Matt Cooke is the microcosm of an era that I don't want to remember. He was a cheapshot when he was with us, he was a cheapshot up until this year apparently. He was a marginal player at the tail-end of his tenure with us and did not fight his own battles, and Ohlund paid the price for what is considered the reason Cooke was cast out of Vancouver.

I think he is a rat. He was a good hockey player for us, but had no integrity whatsoever when he was here and quite frankly, I don't want him defining this franchise at all. Go on with your voting, I'm simply here to give my opinion. It may not be what it is, but it's certainly what I took out from it from his time here.

If you are voting for what the players accomplished here, I wouldn't vote for him. If you are voting for what his legacy was here, I wouldn't vote for him. As a player, I could see it. As a member of Vancouver, I could see it. In terms of the hockey code of ethics, never ever. I sure sound like I'm indicting him, but his teammates here sure didn't think the world of him when he left, it seemed more of a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" kinda deal.
