Gerbe is one of the few forwards I like off the Sabres. At least the little guy has heart and will stick up for teammates.

Then he shouldn't be chirping when he has zero intentions of fighting anyone.

He's one of the few forwards I like on the Sabres too.

If only the rest of the team had his heart and tenacity.

The funny thing is that Gerbe is 100x tougher than Blake Wheeler. I would have loved to have seen Gerbe just wreck Wheeler right there.

Why not? He does it to get under the skin of other players, and he's on his game when he plays like a bit of a pest. It works, and he's clearly gotten under your skin as well.

And Gerbe isn't dirty. Lucic is dirty.

They both got penalties. It didn't work. Don't act like a tough guy if you're not.

It may not be your cup of tea(there's nothing wrong with that) but that's there games. If you tell them to tone it down they would be less effective. Just my 2 cents.

Because that crap doesn't belong in the game. Do you think diving is ok, because it is often effective? Agitators don't belong in this game, but unfortunately they are taking over.

What does Lucic have to do with this thread?

Maybe not in this instance but who's to say Wheeler didn't start it? People ***** on this board when the Sedin's don't stand up for themselves, and ***** when someone like Gerbe does.

If gerbe was Lucic's size throwing the hits he does now (taking runs and leaving his feet) he'd be way worse than looch, but hes small so i don't care lol. Lucic is so irrelevant to this thread, wtf.

If he's that small of and he's a grinding kinda guy to boot, there just isn't much that he can do, lol. It's not like fighting would make a difference, either.

Gerbe isn't just an agitator. He's a hard working gritty player that has pretty good offensive abilities. He could be a 20 goal scorer in this league.

Agitators productivity is overrated IMO. They take a lot of penalties. Example here, his little spear on Wheeler sent him to the box. Some reffs may only call him for that. People consider Avery to be one of the best pests around, but he took a ton of penalties at the worst times possible. He would also intentionally take penalties to get under other player's skin and keep his image around the league alive.

None of them are elite power forwards who drop the gloves, so none of them are any good.

On a serious note, I like that Gerbe stands up for himself. Sure, they both went to the box, but Gerbe lets other players know that just because he's small he won't let them take advantage of him.

Sad thing is, Gerbe is probably more physical than Wheeler and I wouldn’t be surprised if he could beat him up

He has the talent to still pitch in and be a productive player playing the game straight up. Definitely shouldn't be fighting, but it is lame for him to chirp as much as he does and never back it up.

If he has those talents, why does he resort to also playing an agitators game? Why not work on his defensive play and become a valuable two way player capable of shutting down lines and scoring 20 goals?

Gerbe and Avery are not the same players. Gerbe had a lot of offensive success in college and is more offensively gifted than Avery.

And his "little spear"?? It was a slash. There was absolutely no spearing motion in that at all.
