Does GMGM not hire the coaches? Ted is just the checkbook, I thought. And I think he realizes that and stays out of the way, what more can you want from your owner?

If anything, his problem is he has to much faith in GMGM but GMGM has put on a winner the last few years and grouped together what should have been one of the most talented teams in the league. There hasn't been much for the owner to look at and want to fiddle with.

That's the question. The last 4 coaches have been rookies. Hunter, Boudreau, Hanlon and Cassidy. The only NHL experienced coach he hired was Wilson. That's it.

This year is going to be what ever it ends up to be. Anything short of improvement for the franchise should cost GMGM his job. That means Conference finals or he is done.

The game was over why take your anger out on Ward? Waste of your energy.

Thats my problem with Ted, he never hold George accountable. We just back up more and then run harder into that wall time and time again and expect something to change.

If all he wants is a team that makes the playoffs and then flames out, congrats George is your guy. He'll give you that year after year. If you want a championship, good luck with that.

good thing we play in the SE, cause I could only imagine how bad our record would be if we saw phi, nyr, bos, and nj more than we do.

Not at all, if anything he's even more of a players coach. He was the captain of this team for the longest time, and captains pretty much unanimously defend and support their players, deflect criticism from the players, etc. And now he's coaching the very same team. Psychologically he's in the exact same spot. If you wanted someone who'd skate them till they puke after a bad loss the last guy on the planet you'd get is Dale Hunter.

This whole Hunter thing reminds me of Jim Zorn. I have a feeling we have another coach out of his element. I am now on board with the fire McPhee group, on inability to hire a coach alone.

When you watch a guy like Malkin play, then Ovechkin.. you see one tries really hard for loose pucks, and battles hard to the net.

I don't know, I haven't seen many cap games this year, but Ovie seems to glide a lot

I really like him, but he's really gotta pick it up.

I don't know about Hunter but Don Hay was my pick for a Junior coach moving up to the NHL.

This is pretty much why everyone was worried after the last game.

Nice Caps, way to play. Vokoun should be owed an apology by the team after the game. Wasn't too terrible to watch, but having to listen to Tracy the whole game intensifies the anger. I don't blame the coach, I blame the players. They get paid the big money to do their game and they just don't seem to care. I'll bet NHL legend coaches couldn't coach this team.

Disgusting. I can't believe at one time this team was a scoring machine. Ovechkin looks like a 4th liner at out there. Embarrassing. I'm starting to wonder if he was on roids before. That's the kinda fall he's had.
