Tank yesterday did not go well as Habs won the game.

Tank games today
Need an Edmonton win vs. Toronto.
Need a Ducks win vs. Calgary.

I sincerely hope they pull off the miracle and make the playoffs. I can't wait to see all these so called fans embarassed and jumping off the Habs wagon.

I'm a habs fan and realized that making the playoffs is almost impossible
we lost important games against key teams (WSH, PIT, NJ)

As much as I love the habs I prefer them failing so we can get a high pick

Win- win situation

habs win --> fun game
habs lose --> closer to Grigorenko

And have you not seen junior players hyped up so much become a flop ?

A pick is a pick. Getting a top 5 pick doesn't necessarily mean the Habs will be a better team next year. Any true hockey fan knows this.

The chances are significantly higher the higher your pick is. We're not making the play-offs. It's not going to happen. Any true fan knows if you're not going to contend you'
re better off increasing your chances of getting a top pick and a top player.

So you are saying our last top 5 pick was over hyped and it didn't make the habs a better team?

Anthony Stewart being put on waivers today. I know lots of you guys wanted the Habs to sign him last summer.

@TSNBobMcKenzie:
Hearing CAR's Anthony Stewart is being put on today's waiver wire at 12 noon ET. Stewart has one more full season at $900K on his contract.”

I thought Anthony Stewart could've been a decent third line option going into the year, until I read about his laziness. Grew up a Habs fan too.

On a 4th line with White and ???, that would be fine.

I would get JF Jacques to play on the left and ask White to play center as he was in Junior.

Here's what a Canes fan thinks of him:

The one thing that seemed to be his strength was straight-line speed. He's got some jets once he gets a few strides in open ice.

Honestly I'm sort of puzzled at what kind of game he sees himself playing. He'd probably be best suited as a forechecking, in-your-face Chuck Kobasew type grinder. And the Canes are a great team to be that type of player (LaRose, Dwyer, Ruutu, etc) but Stewart hasn't really stepped into the role. I guess he'd be an ok bottom-6 addition for a team that just needs the depth.
Also,

@TSNBobMcKenzie:
SJS put Andrew Murray on waivers. BOS puts Zach Hamill on waivers. And, as reported earlier, CAR puts Anthony Stewart on waivers.

Makes no sense. Ya, he's not scoring as much as last year, but he's been pretty solid overall for 900K$.

If anything, I'd pick him up to piss Tim Thomas off

Damn, I almost want to pick up Hamill too, but I know he'll never live up to the 07 expectations. Probably gonna be your standard dumpster.

Zach Hamill is on waivers as well, Bruins never really gave him a chance.

He was drafted 8th overall in 2007 and has the pontential to be a top six centre.

He doesn't have the size to be a top 6 and DD and Eller are much better than Hamill

He used to be projected as a top 2 center, but he'll never live up to that first round selection, let alone the 8th overall pick.

Pick Stewart up. He'd be inspired to play here, and with our injuries have the rest of the year to show he can play on the fourth line next year when Darche moves on. If he really impresses, it could even make it easier to move Moen (though I'd prefer if he's resigned at a reasonable number- they need more players like him, not less).

I remember liking Hamill in his draft year, has his stock really fallen this low?

I'd rather have Stewart over Darche, Palushaj and even defensemen like Campoli and Weber on that bottom 6, to be honest. He actually has more points than all the first three combined together believe it or not, along with the other elements he brings - I'll let you guess what those are

I would pick up both Stewart and Hamill and trade Kositstyn, Moen, Gill, Campoli, Weber and even Diaz for picks, prospect and the future.

We get younger, cheaper and possily better.
