Create a Lineup From a Draft Class

Just like he title says. Try and create a lineup from a draft class. It's ok to move a center or 2 over to the wing, since there are so many centers usually. I'll start with arguably the deepest draft of the last ten years: 2003.

Parise - Kesler - Perry
Staal - Bergeron - Getzlaf
Brown - Richards - Backes (Hows that for a checking line?)
Vanek - Carter - Eriksson
Michalek, Horton

Weber - Suter
Seabrook - Enstrom
Phaneuf - Coburn
Burns

Fleury
Howard
Elliot

I personally think that this squad could beat any other, but I'd like to see what some other strong years look like.

Who would argue that?

The first round in 2003 was one of the most insane things in any sport. The number of star players exceeds the number of complete busts. Unheard of.

If only Jessiman and Zherdev had panned out.

I'd put these goalies ahead of Budaj, but 2001 was pretty good, especially up front.

3 solid goalies. Wingers are pretty weak in '05.

Robitaille - Lemieux- Hull
Roberts - Richer- Mellanby
Olczyk - Muller- Ronning
Pivonka - Corson- Sheppard

Suter - Iafrate
Hatcher - K. Samuelson
Svoboda - Cote
Cavallini

Roy
McLean

Tom Glavine (300+ wins)

Note: Check out the NHL Defensemen from this draft. There's a laundry list of D-men that had long careers and didn't make my list.

Your first line won't produce enough

Bure - Fedorov - Sillinger/Drake

Konstantinov - Lidstrom

No goalie

That would be one hell of a line, all detroit draft picks except Bure. Detroit was going to draft him, but the NHL said he wasnot eligible. Later on he was proven to be eligible so Vancouver took him. Imagine that draft had the wings gotten Bure as well.

This has to be one of, if not the best draft for one individual team all time, any others compare?

Konstantinov is one of my all-time favorite players.

I would do '08, but there wouldn't be room for the defensemen.

Doughty-Pietrangelo
Bogosian-Myers
Schenn-Karlsson

And yet there is John Carlson, Voynov, Hamonic, MDZ, Gardiner, Sbisa
