Haha, although you must give some credit to Gomer, he was one of the better Habs in the last two games

If you're excited about those players, wait till Gauthier comes back from his shopping spree. It will make you simply giddy like a sex starved housewife with new shoes.

Prediction : A loss by one goal. 3-4 or something like this.

Nonetheless, go habs go!

God damnit, have to activate him now in my hockey pool.

I wonder if it will be two games in a row that a Habs player has to face the music and drop the gloves tonight. Bourque on Backstrom and now Pacioretty on Letang.

Should I wear a Yakupov or a Grigorenko Habs jersey to the next game?

Anyone notice that Blunden is playing as the "protector" of the team? He keeps seeing ice time with odd linemates. Like Bourque stirs up something and Blunden comes to the rescue, etc. Not bad but I'd rather he sticks to a 4th line of whatever-Nokelainen-Blunden.

I also don't get the hate for Noke. He's been solid for what he is. Provides energy and grit. He's a 4th liner in MTL. He won't be winning scoring titles.

I know the DD line has been consistent all season, but I'd like to see more than one line scoring a night. I'd would like to see the players split up.

Pacioretty Desharnais Andrei
Bourque Plekanec Cole

or

Pacioretty Plekanec Andrei
Bourque DD Cole

I know RC wants to spread the offense to three lines, but it has been largely unsuccessful, switch it up a little.

So what would our best line be even though? I mean, on paper it's clearly...

Bourque-Plekanec-Cole

Three guys proven to put up 55~ points or more.

This year though it would be...

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole

Guess I would go with...

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Bourque-Plekanec-Kostitsyn (yes I would give Kosty another top 6 shot)
Moen-Eller-Leblanc (Yes, since there's no Gio he is the only top 6/9 viable player we actually have left. Give the kid another shot)
Darche-Noke-Blunden (for now, then White-Noke-Blunden)

The top 6 doesn't have much size up the middle but at least it's heavily insultate by Patches, Cole, Bourque, Kostitsyn. In fact that top 6 wingers list is ****, if we replaced one of those guys or a center with a big superstar = gg.

Plus when Moen-Eller-Leblanc is your 3rd line it's perfect. Two young guys with a solid vet presence. Moen isn't great offensively but I guarantee Eller-Leblanc will be able to do some good things for us. Only problem is Leblanc is a bit too young. He's almost seamlessly entered the AHL. I like what I see.

Subban-Gorges
Kaberle-Emelin (we're struggling offensively, give Kabs a shot at some serious top 4 ice time)
Gill-Diaz
Weber (Switch him with Gill every other game until one or both are traded, St-Denis has showed more promise than Weber this year and deserves a serious shot)

St-Denis AHL stats:

30gp 3g 13a 16pts +2

This isn't junior guys, it's the AHL. That's a very good sign. He's been dependable and putting up numbers. He's just turning 26 in like 3 days.

5'11 190lbs, not huge for a D by any stretch, but certainly not 5'8" 165lbs either. He's a homegrown talent (Quebec) and we signed him expecting an average D. He's exceeded expectations improving each year, he's learned in the AHL when to take risks offensively and it's paying off. If he can get some NHL time he could be a solid #7 for years to come. You need guys like that. I'm thinking Weber has a much higher ceiling, but if he can get us a pick and isn't even really playing that well... St-Denis already looked okay in his first call up and even had a goal. It's certainly worth looking into.

Newsflash to you my friend: Scott Gomez is a Montreal Canadien and has played better hockey than any other forward over the past few games. Now's not the time to be making him disappear from the lineup.
