NYR/ANA -- Bobby Ryan

The Rangers are #1 in the conference but that doesn't mean they have no weakness. The Rangers need secondary scoring, and Bobby Ryan could fit that role perfectly. Ryan was reported he was almost traded to the Rangers earlier this season, so you can still see something happen between these two teams.

Here is my offer.

Brandon Dubinsky or Artem Anisimov
Michael Sauer or Stu Bickel
Mats Zuccerelo
Ryan Bourque or 2013'2nd
2012'1st

Bobby Ryan
2012'3rd

Brandon Dubinsky-- Has turned it around, been playing some great hockey; hitting everything in site, scoring some goals, and playing some good overall hockey, defiantly not the player he was the first half.

Michael Sauer-- Can play top 4 minutes, is going through a concussion but should be playing next week.

**Stu Bickel-- Plays solid defense, will hit and fight.

Mats Zuccerelo-- Suffering an injury in the A, but should be fine. I expect a call up some time soon. Solid player overall. Surprised he hasn't play any games this year with the Rangers, but Hagelin is taking is spot.

1st Round Pick-- Should be around 16-30, most likely around the mid 20 area..

Pretty sure I can speak for Duck fans when I say in order for a deal like this to work Derek Stepan+ has to be coming back the other way.

Lot of scraps for a player like Ryan.

I don't understand why people think they'll get ANY player of Ryans' caliber (yet alone one signed long term at a good cap hit, increasing his value significantly) for a deal like this.

Any deal with NYR for Ryan would involve:

Dubinsky- Even if Ducks don't want him, NYR would need him going other way to open up a roster spot
Thomas + 1st/Kreider- Great player returns a great prospect. Not Ryan Bourque who isn't impressing in his first year in the AHL at all. Not MZA who lost his spot on the team this offseason, not Stu Bickel who's played a grand total of 10 NHL games. Blue-chip prospects go the other way.

Likely to be one more piece, Anisimov or a defenseman depending on ANA's needs.

Dubinsky, Thomas, Anisimov, 1st
Dubinsky, Kreider, Anisimov

And truth is, for a player signed until July 2015, that may even be too little. Ryan isn't a rental, Ducks won't get a rental's return for him. Price will be steep. If NYR isn't willing to give up the pieces (I don't think they should as a team competing for the cup will get more bang for the buck looking at upcoming UFA's), its not like the Ducks are going to lose Ryan for nothing. His value doesn't diminish come trade day, come next year's deadline.

Well I would have him over Dubinsky. Also I don't think we are interested in Zucceralo either. Anisimov, Sauer, 1st round pick (2012) atleast for Ryan.

Pieces that Anaheim may not deem valuable enough to move Ryan, but scraps is a terrible word to use to refer to these players. Excellent role players like Sauer or Anisimov that any coach in the league would love to have are not scraps.

For 1 player,NO I DO NOT give all that up...

Most i would offer is

-Kreider and Dubinsky
or -Dubinsky,Thomas & 1st Rounder
or -Dubinsky & Anisimov

This is assuming Ana doesnt want a Defenseman.

If you were the Anaheim Ducks would you trade away a star player for spare parts and draft picks? Answer = no.

As a Rangers fan, you'd rather want Dubinsky than Anisimov. When he's doing things right, Dubinsky could push for 60 points.

During Dubinsky's slump, he was still contributing. During Anisimov's current slump, you don't notice him. It's like he's not even there

Im not saying it would never happen, but I seriously doubt the Rangers ever trade Staal. NYR need more scoring for sure, but it wont be at the expense of Staal.

Some people need to get their heads checked and stop talking out of their *****. Dubinsky, Anisimov, and Sauer are not spare parts.

Oh look this thread again.....

All this leads to is arguing about Dubinsky and how amazing the Ranger prospects are.

While this package is not terrible, it is noit what we want. If Ryan goes to NYR then think:

Stepan++

Staal

Atleast thats what it would take to get me talking.

No chance. No one here makes it worth our while. You'll have to find the goal scoring winger you guys are desperate for elsewhere if this is what's being offered.

ok, what do you think of a deal based around Staal & Anisimov for Ryan & Visnovsky. With maybe more coming from the NY end...
