Tuomo Ruutu to the Burgh @ deadline

What would Carolina be looking for in return for Ruutu at the deadline?

I think he would be a solid fit in the Burgh and a change of scenery would do wonders for him.

They will probably want a 2nd rounder + a prospect. This is also like the 5th Ruutu to Pitt thread lol. Shero should offer a 2nd round pick plus Tangradi. Good value for a rental player.

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Sullivan-Crosby-Ruutu
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy
Adams-Jeffrey-Dupuis

Scary depth.

If Staal plays second line centre, he might resign. Crosby Malkin And Neal would be scary, Staal and kunitz have chemistry, Ruutu is the perfectg fit with that line, good for grinding and wearing the opponent down as well as scoring. The third line could do the same. Maybe it could be Sullivan, Tangradi and a 2nd, Sullivans contract expires this summer. Sullivan is too soft. We could waive him as well.

I do Shero stated that he is not trading his 1st, Despres, Morrow, Bennet or Harrington. That does not leave them much as far as dealing for one of the top 6 rentals. Those are the only prospects that have value, I think he goes after a player that a 2nd round pick and a low prospect will get him and Ruutu will get better than what Pitts is willing to offer.

You dont take malkin away from center. Having 3 lines of malkin, crosby and staal down the middle is insane to match against.

Why in the world would you move Malkin to wing? Just why...?

Kunitz-Crosby-Ruutu
Sullivan-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy
Asham/Adams-Jeffrey-Dupuis

THAT'S a scary lineup.

As for what it would take? Tangradi is a start. 2nd isn't bad but I just feel like someone will top that.

I would be happy that return as a Canes fan. Tangradi+2nd is still the best offer for Ruutu from the deskchair GMs on HF.

I think that may be a wee bit too much to give up from Pittsburgh considering hes a ufa.

2nd plus mid prospect

Or

Tangradi + 4th/5th

What about something like tangradi + lovejoy for ruutu + gleason? Maybe Pens add 3rd/4th to even it out a little?

I would love those lines, Pens would be the cup favorites with those lines and the D they have. Malkin and Neal are doing great and then you make another top line with Crosby and Ruutu with Kunitz, Dupuis, or Sullivan on the other wing.

I'd like it to be Tanger + 3rd or 4th

My lines would be:

Dupuis/Jeffrey - Crosby - Ruutu
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
Dupuis/Jeffrey - Staal - Kennedy
Cooke - Vatale - Adams/Asham

Sullivan can go F himself

I think thats closer to the lineup it would be. I'd like to see:

Dupuis - Crosby - Ruutu
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Staal - Kennedy
Asham - Jeffery - Adams
Vitale
Sullivan

Of course what I see happening is:
Kunitz - Crosby - Ruutu
Sullivan - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Staal - Kennedy
Dupuis - Adams - Asham
Vitale

Which is wrong...oh so wrong. I wouldn't mind dumping Sullivan for a late pick...SOMETHING to get him off the team. He brings NOTHING to the table. With Jeffery back...he has no value here. Even as a PP / 4th liner / Old guy leadership / whatever...no place. Like the guy...but you can't refuse to shoot 99% of the time when you're with world class playmakers.
