surprised you're making comments like this after the kind of game AK is having right now...usually you guys go into hiding when AK has a good game

i hope they lock him up to a 3 or 4 year contract 3.75 mil!!!

Sounds good. The benefits of drafting and developing your own players.

Your posts are stereotypical support for habs bashing. lol Rejean support, L'antichambre is intelligent discussion and AK is lazy posts. Nothing personal, just I think media is brainwashing you a bit there. AK is a fine player, not a great one, but in a supporting role he's excellent.

Cause after this many years you get to know the guy. He is a much less talented version of Kovalev. IF only he came with a heart and a brain he would be great

Kind of sad we have such a low level of homegrown talent. Only guys we drafted are:

Plekanec
Pacioretty
Price
Subban
Diaz
Emelin
Weber
White
Kostitsyn
Markov

That includes goalies. It's not that great. It's not terrible, but I wish it were higher. A lot of these guys are spare parts at this point. Diaz, Weber, White. All fine players but not exactly lifetime habs like say Toews and Kane are for Chicago. Think of Vancouver, Sedins, Kesler, Hodgson, Schneider, Elder, Bieksa, Salo, Burrows, Raymond, etc... All homegrown and core players, some of which may be long term keepers for them.

Ya, Montreal is definitely the city where you can drag your feet unnoticed....

It's not like in Carolina, where you can a ton of press analyzing your every move, and where all the fans think they're experts.

Thank God it's not Carolina..

If true why not get this done asap.
Unless someone is going to overpay big time at deadline.

Oh great, we lose a first round pick on this. Or is Gauthier smart enough to trade Kostitsyn, get the pick and then re-sign him? Nah, he isn't that smart.

Agreed. And if true then my support for A.Kost goes up. I think he gives a good effort but his skills are 50/50, throughout the year. But you have to like his attitude and reward him to set an example... And that's tough for me to admit as an A.Kost basher (I wanted to trade him for Tootoo).

Anyway, long story short Price just went up (based on this being true). Biding starts at #1 pick, plus...

I like AK and I hope he stay for long.
But he is not a 4M player. He is a 20-20 second line with some upside. I have a hard time seing a team giving him more than 3M-3.5M/year on the open market.

Makes me happy to hear it and I hope they do resign him. And, honestly, it doesn't surprise me after all these years of hearing he would be gone at the trade deadline then in the summer or even not resigned and in the end he's still there and, if he wanted to be gone, I have no doubt they would have traded him a long time ago. Andrei Kostitsyn is more a hab at heart than any of the Quebec born players who wouldn't come here for 10 mil a season the RDS crew drools on.

This can't be forgetten here. That's also a huge part of why I want a retool. When guys get groomed by an organisation and feel like part of a team, they are far more likely to take a great contract. Why would a player want to give an hometown discount to a team that pay similar player 1-2 mil more on the FA market?

This clearly show you know nothing about hockey. Watch the games instead of Brunet, Crete and G. Therrien telling you stupidities.

The heart and brain thing is so 2000 and late. Try something else that won't make you look ignorant.

I'm not a big fan of his ; depends on the number, depends on the term. (3 yrs at 3,75 ? count me in. More money for longer ? I'm out)

Also depends A LOT on market value at the deadline : some suggest he could fetch a 1st rounder, if that's the case, then I trade him, no questions asked.

But main point is : we have to negociate NOW and if a deal can't be reached before the end of febuary, then he's a goner. No more losing assets for nothing. I'm sick of that !! Can't afford this in our situation...

I want to see a move before the deadline...sign him or trade him, same for the other UFA's. Though only Moen and AK I would re-sign. Campoli needs to go(play Weber and Diaz)and so does Gill.

I'll believe it when I see it. If he actually wants to come back to this team, and would take a reasonable deal, I'm for it, but I just have trouble buying the story.
