Your worst Avs memory?

The avs brought some wonderful memories over the past years. Today let's look at the not so great memories.

My worst one are in no order:

2003 playoffs game 7, Bruno scoring the overtime goal. Not only knocking the avs out but it was the last game Roy played. I cried like a baby.

2002 playoffs game 6, Roy's statue of liberty play and game 7 the avs lose 7-0. I'd rather have someone kick me in the balls then relive that moment. I also cried.

2007 Nashville beat the avs killing their playoff hopes. That epic run just galling short, worst part was, Kariya scored assisted by Forsberg.

2008 playoffs game 4, the wings hammer the avs 8-2. It was like men vs boys the whole series. The last game was an exclamation mark. I also teared up. I pretty much cried every time the wings beat the avs in a playoff series.

Oh yeah, the only time I was ashamed to be an avs fan was the day I saw May in an Avalanche jersey. It was like your best friend stabbing you in the back, well at least for me it was.

Forsberg and Foote leaving, our massive slump last year, Sakics retirement.

That two moments are my choices, one was a moment of utter sadness and the other one was a moment filled with disgust and disbelief. I'm still unable to figure out what were they thinking when they've signed May.

This. Nothing else comes even close. Watched this entire series at various bars during an epic Vegas trip. I remember me and my friend getting monstrously drunk that night. Thankfully the Wings fans we ran into there were all way cool and just wanted to talk hockey.

The Steve Moore game. I know the Avs won 9-2, but no one remembers that. To this day, I can't watch that POS play and not get absolutely furious.

2002 playoffs game 6 vs. Detroit, and the subsequent shellacking in game 7 is a close second. I fully believe that had Bourque played another year, the Avs would have won The Cup again.

"Leading three games to two in the series, Colorado looked to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals at home in game six. The veteran Claude Lemieux got the Avalanche on the board first with just 35 seconds remaining in the first period. However, the Stars responded early in the second on Jere Lehtinen's goal at 1:55. In the third period, Jamie Langenbrunner scored twice at 6:49 at 17:15, and just 14 seconds later, Richard Matvichuk scored to give Dallas a 4–1 lead, which they hung on to. Ed Belfour stopped 26 of 27 Colorado shots."

The 2nd time that Tony Granato was named head coach was pretty brutal for me.

Losing to the Canucks 8-2 or losing to them 6-0 this year considering I was there for the 6-0 game.

Any Wings blowout game is like a kick in the nuts.

And since I live in Calgary, last year on Valentine's was pretty brutal.

2002 playoffs by far.

The Selänne/Kariya season was such a slow burner of a failure that there was no real shock. You got used to the idea of it not going to end well.

I remember being in Calgary the year we had that insane push at the end (I think 2007).

It was the last game of the year, and Calgary was beating the Oilers 2-0 and suddenly they announced that Colorado had just lost to the Preds and that the Flames had clinched a playoff spot.

They Flames stopped trying, and the Oilers came back and won 3-2. That pretty much ruined my trip to Calgary...

2002 games 6 and 7 which people have gone into detail ad nauseum on here. I ended up breaking an extremely expensive light on the side of my house after game 7 after taking my trusty tennis racket and smacking a ball as hard as I could in the general direction of the house. Oops! Friggen Statue of Liberty and Roy's fumble of the puck leading to a goal in game 6...

The Bertuzzi incident was awful. To this day I cannot believe it happened.

Aaaaaand 2003 playoffs v Minny- that whole series. The Avs blow a 3 games to 1 lead AND manage to blow a lead in game 7. I remember being in the fetal position on the floor in my room for a solid 10 minutes after that loss. Awful. I was SO dramatic that night, haha.

Oh, and losing Forsberg and Foote to the new CBA. I was absolutely crushed when I saw the ticker on the bottom of the screen breaking Forsberg's signing in PHI. I bawled. Never have I cried over sports (except Bourque raising the Cup) until that moment.

Can we do a "best Avs memory" thread next? You know, cheer up this place!

Saddest? Bruno's overtime goal, mostly because it was the last play of my favourite player ever. Sucked seeing him deke Patty there for the goal.

Most angry? Bertuzzi, and it's not even close. I was fuming.

Getting to go see my childhood hero, arguably one of the biggest sports stars my country has produced, play in front of a home crowd one more time. No wait, he retires and we lose to the flames 9-1. I sat through the entire fiasco. Even the flames fans got tired of taunting us and were leaving early.

Forsberg and Foote leaving after the lockout.

I had the night shift at work that day and I just didn't feel like doing anything after I found out the news. I was pretty much in a daze that night. It felt like I had been kicked in the gut.

2nd would be Roy's final game vs Minny. I was there and when they announced Kerry Fraiser was one of the refs I knew we were in trouble, then he called that BS penalty on Rob Blake in the 3rd period that led to the GTG. Stunning loss.

2003 game 7 playoffs- I was at that game, which probably is why it is worse than all other moments. Minnesota had no right beating us in that game/series

Losing to Dallas, for the 2nd time in a row, in game 7 of the WCF. I cried after that & thought the Avs blew their chance of winning the Cup with that group of players. Thankfully, I was wrong
