Best Butterfly style goalie pads??

I am a goalie for a travel team as well as my high school team and i play a very butterfly based game. I currently have Vaughns which are very good but are getting old. Ive been looking for pads and don't want to spend a great deal of money. Any suggestions on a butterfly style pad that is not too expensive yet durable?

The Vaughn Vision 9400 pads are very good...I believe the whole set can be had for around 7-800 dollars (US).

I use the Bauer One80 set and I love it, but they're a bit more expensive and probably not built as well as the Vaughns.

Outside of finding something old, like a Reebok P3 on clearance...those should do you well.

What's your definition of "don't want to spend a great deal of money"?

Pads are very subjective, but definitely take a look at some clearance Brian's Focus pads.

Canadian made, tons of customization options, very stiff but incredibly light. Durability is second to none, IMO.

I picked up a new set this year for $850 CDN. Brian's has discontinued this line of pads and replaced them with the new Subzero line, so many places are looking to clear them out.

TPS R8 pads are amazing pads I have 2 sets I paid 200 bucks each for brand spanking new! They are pro level pads but they are 4 years old. so lots of places are blowing out the R8s.

here is a link to a pad poll which includes the TPS R8, Vaughn V3, and TPS summit.

Definite +1 for the Vaughn 9400 Leg Pads. I would also check out the Reebok 7000 Leg Pads. A buddy of mine plays for a D3 school and swears by them, especially for the price. He's a butterfly goalie to a fault.

100 different goalies will tell you 100 different things. Personally though I use Reeboks because I feel their edges are a bit more square and that helps to stop your pad from rolling on you. Unfortunately pads can at times really be you get what you pay for.

Vaughn V3's/V4's or Brian's Focus.

If you have a wide butterfly, get a pad that is stiff and has no breaks, if you have a thin butterfly, get a soft pad with 1/2 breaks

Lundqvist (stiff)

Quick (soft)
