Lou hurts his bartering position if he publicly admits he's shopping for D.
Better for him to not tip his hand even if it's obvious to many.

i think 18 would look right. 21 would be fine but i'm not sure if that would happen.

I don't expect even ten points from him for the rest of the year.

What about 33? He was 23 so close enough. **** Urbom.

21 should be Teddy's until he's no longer Devils property. 18 or 10 is Zalewski goes down will be fine

He wore 23 in Carolina so perhaps he gets #32? With retiring three numbers, Lou is going to have to be more flexible..

I want someone to wear 13. If I ever buy a jersey with my last name, the number will be 13.

Ya, that bothers me too. Maybe he wants to wait until Greene is back to assess what we need. He can't be satisfied with this defence.

Zalewski currently has 10.

I wonder why. Superstitious much?
I`d take it in a nanosecond. My favorite jersey number.

this 100%. i doubt lou doesn't think he needs to upgrade the d. he'd be crazy if he didn't.

Correct. It appears Lou is superstitious. Not what I'd expect from him, but whatever.

CapGeek
Even after Ponikarovsky trade, #Canes can still trade away ~$5m in AAVs today and ~$10m in AAVs at deadline and be above cap floor.
Maybe this sets the table for another trade with Raleigh before the deadline?

TGfireandice: Lamoriello said he has no plans to trade for a defenseman because of Tallinder injury . He expects Greene back after all-star break.
TGfireandice: The Devils still have Toronto's 2012 4th round pick from the David Steckel trade.
Of course he doesn't, he was looking for one before the injury!
Hopefully?

So, after reading what the former Whalers fans are saying about him, it looks like he isn't good about finishing on his scoring chances, and he doesn't play very physical for a big guy. Rutherford apparently signed him hoping to fill the void left by Cole's departure, and he disappointed in that role, eventually getting dropped to the fourth line. Hopefully he will improve on those deficiencies now that he's here and the expectations are different.

And Lombardi because he didn`t get Kovalchuk.
This is what I was talking about. He is like Mike Mottau, asked to do something he`s not capable of doing.

According to that qoute, Lou said that he will not trade for a defenseman due to Tallinder's injury but that doesn't mean he wasn't planning or looking into it prior to Tallinder's injury.

I've always liked Poni when he was a Leafs; saw him jump around the clubs hoping we would always pick him up (same with Rob Scuderi).
It sucks that his numbers have declined, hopefully the change of scenery and surrounding players help pick him back up.
