is this period of canadien futility is more worse than what happened to the habs in the 1930s?
I think near the end of the Houle era team was at its worse. This club is not as bad as it looks. It needs new upper management but team has a lot also. Habs have one of top young goalies to come along in awhile. Cole and Pacioretty, Gionta, Bourque are excellent top six wingers. Down on the farm Tinordi has chance to be something special with his size and wheels. Beaulieu, Leblanc, Gallagher, Bournival are projected NHLers. Team has cap space and all of its draft picks going forward

Yes. Ineffective management plus weak roster plus bad locker room karma equals bad team.

You may not agree, but I think we currently have plenty of young, quality players to build upon, unlike then. What you might agree with is that, even more important, we've already taken the first step in our rebuild, with a relatively new owner who should stick around for awhile and hire the right people to run this circus as a winning business.

That year or the next.

Way worse than what we are seeing now.

The year he left I sort of felt weird wearing his jersey, but now I wear it with pride.
Unflattering choice of words there champ.

But well said otherwise. I remember when he had a stick to the eye against the Canes. He was a hero.

I do agree on the quality young players statement. I don't know about the owner yet...

Actually, the next year was Koivu's cancer season with Theo winning the Hart.

A period is longer than one bad year. And who is talking about moving the Canadiens?

You answered your own question in that post. No, it's not even close.
