FSN Schedule:

8PM

We've had stormy seas in the State of Hockey lately, with the Wild in the midst of a spectacular fall from the top of the NHL. But today isn't a day to look back and complain and get caught up in the doldrums of the season. Today is a day to celebrate the game that ties us all together. Today is a celebration of Ice Hockey at every level. Today, we see the love of the game that allowed us to survive after Norm Green1 ripped our team out of our hands. And today, we see the new team, born of that love, beat the ever-loving **** out of that old team that left us.

Today, things turn around.

Today, It's a Great Day for Hockey.

Lines:
Matt Kassian, Jed Ortmeyer, Nate Prosser, and Chad Rau were all called up and will all play. (Eden Prairie Native™) Chad Rau will be making his NHL debut tonight. Casey Wellman and David McIntyre were sent to Houston in that same transaction, and Mike Lundin and Marek Zidlicky will be scratched. Josh Harding will start in net.

Johnson-Brodziak-Heatley

Clutterbuck-Cullen-Setoguchi
Powe-Peters-McMillan

Ortmeyer-Rau-Kassian

Schultz-Spurgeon
Falk-Prosser
Stoner-Zanon

Harding

Hockey Day Jukebox:

Dedication:
The Wild will be presenting Minnesota's own Matt Cullen with a silver stick before the main event, as he recently played in his 1000th career NHL game.

Additionally, the Wild, Gophers, FSN, and MSHSL have chosen to dedicate today's entire celebration to Jack Jablonski and his family in the wake of his devastating hockey injury. Keep Jabs in your thoughts as you watch today.

Wow, I was almost worried I was gonna log on here like around 7 or something and have to whip up a mail in one.

Glad I'm off the hook! I can sleep soundly tonight!

Also the Stars lost to the bolts tonight. They gun' be mad.

Oh and it's gonna be Eric Nystrom's return.

Hope he gets a good reception.

Congrats Tommy on having the first GDT with footnotes.

Also, I would like to see the Wild win.

I postulate that these three groups are, in fact, exactly equal.

Am I the only person annoyed how Hockey Day in Minnesota is dedicated to Jack Jablonski, and no mention of Jenna Privette?

Why is he getting all the support/media attention/money raised, and next to nothing talked about for her?

Jack's prospects for recovery are much worse, and his family and friends organized considerable publicity including a logo, website, and donation drive, whereas the Privette family hasn't put out of those and has generally shied away from media attention. I just kind of assumed they were trying to keep her situation out of the limelight for whatever personal reasons they might have to not want the publicity.

To me, it feels like a situation that she was the "second" person or because she plays girls hockey that it doesn't need as much attention.

I do commend Jeremy Roenick for going to visit her and tweeting about her today.

While she doesn't have the severed spine he does, her recovery has stalled out a bit and she still has no feeling below the waist.

Want to help?

Beginning tomorrow a special bracelet with the message “Jenna #23; In our hearts” will be for sale for $5 each with proceeds to help with Jenna’s medical expenses.

In addition, an account has been set up and donations can be sent to “Jenna Privette Fund” at the Anchor Bank, located at 66 East Thompson, West St Paul, MN, 55118. Donations can be dropped off at any Anchor Bank location or at St Croix Lutheran High School.

I hope I didn't come across as disrespectful to Jenna; I was just trying to point out that, intentionally or not, her family hasn't really done as much of the publicity, and so that's probably why she wasn't included. Timing too.

I've been wondering the EXACT same thing. While I definitely think that the public's support for Jack has been amazing, I became a little annoyed when they decided to dedicate the entire day to him. How about a little more acknowledgment for her.....

And I can understand that. But the fact is that her situation has definitely been documented. There's no way that the Wild don't know about it. My question is, did they (and those involved with Hockey Day in Minnesota) offer to help in any way? Did they offer to split the money raised today to help out both families? And if so, were they politely turned down by her family? Or did they not step up and even try to help them out? If that were the case, I'd be extremely p**ed and disappointed.

Either continue the freefall until a lottery pick awaits us or right the ship and make the playoffs. It all starts tonight.

I don't know what this game will bring. On one hand the Wild can't beat anyone in the NHL right now. On the other hand I really want them to beat the Stars so I may be overly angry if they lose.

New rule that just went into effect this week just came into play. Automatic major for checking from behind.

Wow, boarding is automatic 5 minute major now? That was a questionable call either way and now WBL has a 5 mintute PP.

Oh, and look they score 5 seconds in...

Edit: These refs are brutal... 5 minutes for that?

thinking about heading over to Minnetonka to catch the 1:30 game. Question: anyone know how early I might need to be there to get a seat? I haven't been to a HS game since moving here from ND so I don't know how much these games sell.

Since they moved it inside, I have absolutely no idea what kind of crowd to expect. Generally HDM brings a bigger crowd, but it's also generally outside with bigger stands. Whether that means it will be more crowded due to reduced capacity, or less crowded due to reduced interest, I have no idea really.

I will say that, as a former Skipper, I can personally attest to the fact that parking at any major MHS event is an absolute cluster****.

I got up just in time to see the second major end. That third major was deserved though.

Anyone else watching? What do you think of Bischoff? I think he's the only CSS ranked player in this game.

The WBL/GR game looks about 85% full only from the TV shots.
