Senna will be out if that happens.

Maldonado did well to qualify 5th.

If Alonso wins the title this year, he richly deserves it.

Hamilton was my tip for the title at the start of the season, and he now seems to be doing his best to throw away any chance he has.

That said, Alonso deserves everything he gets at this point. Some amazing drives this year.

So Vettel got a 20 second penalty for passing Button while he was off the track, resulting in him finishing 5th, Button upto 2nd and Raikkonen now get's 3rd place

Points standings are now

1: Alonso (154)

2: Webber (120)

3: Vettel (110)

4: Raikkonen (98)

5: Hamilton (92)

Alonso might be one of the most underrated F1 Champs in history. Dude's car control is insane. He can take a junk car and squeeze a great finish out of it. He's like a slightly less aggressive Giles Villeneuve.

And he goes on to call Hamilton stupid for racing with him when he was lapped. Yeah like it's his fault Vettel didn't win. I gotta say my admiration for Alonso is going up (I dislike the guy still but he really is deserving of his wins) while it is decreasing for Vettel. The guy just rubs me the wrong way like he tries to hard or something and when things don't go his way he has a hissy fit. Not sure why Raikkonen is friends with him to be honest.

He will be a completely different person off the camera's, some people are just d***s when competing but great when not

Hamilton has labelled former team-mate Kovalainen "one of the fastest drivers" and says the Finn deserves "a chance to have a fast car.

Interesting

I can already see the headlines to tomorrow:
Kovalainen replacing Massa to Ferrari?

McLaren create an animated F1 short with Jenson and Lewis (& Alexander Armstrong the comedian) that has been showing on Sky TV since the British GP.

Episode 1:

Episode 2:

I think it's pretty funny, there are things you notice after the first time.

I'm surprised Lotus haven't won a race this year. If they keep a competitive car for the season and then into next I think Kimi could challenge for the title next year.

I liked this podium a lot If Lotus (Raikkonen) manages to qualify better the wins will start to come. Raikkonen's favorite track is coming up so he has a pretty good chance of winning I would think.

I really hope Raikkonen doesn't go back to Ferrari it just doesn't work, I like Ferrari and have nothing against them but he should stay in Lotus and help them improve more

This X 1000 . It's just not a good fit. It kinda makes you wonder what would of happened if Kimi joined Mclaren again in 2010.. I still kinda wished they signed Kimi instead of Jenson.

Needs a Spa that is hotter then usual, the Lotus seems pretty poor in colder conditions

Same here brother. I think he'd be too much competition for Alonso anyways. Ferrari would never let that happen.

If Grosjean keeps up with him, Lotus have a very real chance at a constructors championship. Maybe not this year, but for the next few if they keep the two of them on.

I don't think there'll be much movement amongst the top teams. In the end, I think Massa stays with Alonso at Ferrari, McLaren remains Hamilton & Button, Vettel & Webber at RB and Kimi & Grosjean at Lotus. If Massa were out at Ferrari, I would expect Paul DiResta in that seat, with Kovaleinen or Sergio Perez into the Force India seat. I'm not all that convinced that the Force India seat is much better than the Sauber.

Caterham is a team really making strides though. They kinda remind me of the Force India operation after Vijay Malia bought it from Spyker..... How many of you remember how bad the Spyker was?

I don't see why Perez would go from Sauber to Force India tbh, that's a pretty decent downgrade IMO. I'd think at this moment Perez is favourite for Massa's seat is Massa leaves.

the general consensus from Di Montezemolo, Peter Sauber and Sergio Perez collectively is Perez isn't ready for the seat at Ferrari. The thing to remember about the #2 seat at Ferrari is it is a true #2 seat. Even the year Massa almost beat Hamilton for the Championship, Raikkonen was the clear #1. it really takes a veteran driver that has aspirations to win races, but can accept being #2. In fact, someone brought up the other day that Massa hasn't been the same since he first heard "Felipe, do you understand Fernando is faster than you?" on the radio at Hokinheim the year he had the bad crash.

I really think it'll be a Kovaleinen/Di Resta/Liuzzi type that gets the seat. Ultimately, I think Ferrari retains Massa.

Saying that in front of Ferrari fanboys is grounds for a flamewar on how Ferrari does not do favourites, both drivers are treated as number one drivers, etc, etc...
