Blake lack of production? 8 points in 11 games, surely worthy of a 1st round pick

If this bares any truth — and the NYI are offerend a first round picks for PA Parenteau, they should make the deal for sure.

PA is playing extremely well. He is finding ways to get his points. He wont score 30 goals, but he will get you points, and last year he did score 20 goals.

The Islanders have lots of young forwards pushing for roster spots and moving up the line-up. David Ulstrom, Nino Neiderreitter this season, and next season Cizikas, Strome and possibly Rhakshani will all be challenging for roster spots while Kabanov and maybe Petrov may make things even more interesting.

All this means that the Islanders are going to have to either make room by trading players like P.A. or they are going to retain P.A. and trade some of the forward prospects to address other needs (a top-pair defenseman).

I think if a team trades their 1st round pick for P.A., the Islanders should take it. It would be the overpayment of a desperate GM. P.A.'s more likely value is a 2nd round pick and good prospect rather then a coveted 1st in a deep draft.

In part 3 there is a link to a fellow blogger's article about what the Senators might do before the trade deadline: http://thehockeywriters.com/will-the...rade-deadline/

PAP is a prototypical player that does well on a bad team, and will be invisible on a good team. A first rounder is a severe overpayment.

Not saying I disagree (aka: Rich Peverly?), but why do you say this?

So in part 3 the forwards burke is looking at are JVR,Ryan,Nash and Malone. If JVR goes in a deal for Schenn when he gets medically cleared,Burke will look to make a second trade for one of the other three. Looking good burkie

Because PA Parenteau is not as good as people think. The points make his value much higher than it actually is, mostly because he has been playing the top 2 lines with Tavares, Moulson, Grabner, and Nielsen.

Possible rentals for the Wild
Meanwhile the Wild's GM says "I'm not interested in impending UFAs. I'm looking for players who would still be on the team next season."

The New Jersey Devils are in the thick of the playoff race, currently sitting 6th in the Eastern Conference, which means they will try to acquire the missing pieces to contend for Lord Stanley’s Cup. With blue liner Henrik Tallinder out six to eight weeks with a blod clot in his left leg, the Devils will certainly look to add a quality defenseman such as Tim Gleason, Bryan Allen or Lubomir Visnovksy before the deadline. As for impending UFA Zach Parise, he will not be dealt as long as the Devils are the race, but if the team falls out of contention, look for GM Lou Lamoriello to scour the market to see what hefty return he could get for the nifty Parise. While both Martin Brodeur and Johan Hedberg will be UFAs at season’s end, don’t expect them to be dealt as they want to re-sign in New Jersey.
Bang on. This guy gets it, at least for NJ.

PA was moved off Tavares line about 11 games ago and he's continued to put up points.

He's on pace for 70 pts.I wouldn't mind if Snow extends his contract. It is gonna be a weak ufa market and the trade deadline market is also looking weak, with so many teams clumped together, within 8-10 pts of the 8th playoff seed.

So,first the knock on Parenteau was he's only getting points because he is on the 1st line with Tavares.

Now that Okposo's taken his 1st line spot and moved him off Tavares' wing, the knock on Parenteau is he's only getting pts because he's on a line with Grabner/Nielsen or Rolston/Nielsen?

I'm not saying he is bad player. I'm just saying that he benefits mostly from his teammates.

C'mon.Don't most players benefit from playing with talented/skilled teammates?

How many NYI fans are gnashing their teeth over Bailey, not playing with more skilled players?

Okposo earned a promotion from the 2nd line to the 1st, with his aggressive puck pursuit and physical work along the boards. He had 6 goals and 4 assists in his last 18 games on the 2nd line.Think the 5 goals and 4 assists in his last 9 games, has anything to do with playing on Tavares wing?

The Flyers are not going to have a difficult time retaining RFA Jakub Voracek in the summer and the chances of him being traded are unlikely. If they want him as a part of their core moving forward he will be though, make no mistake about it.

You aren't the first person I have seen "report" that the Flyers might trade Voracek because they won't be able to re-sign him this summer and for yours and the benefit of others that is not the case.

Year in and year out people always seem to assume that since the Flyers are always right up against the cap that they won't have the money to retain key players and year in and year out they always find ways to keep their key players and even add to the mix.

Malone is a great guy for the Ducks to add in the offseason.

Cap Hit>Salary so hes what were looking for. See ducksstud's proposal on here somewhere, seemed pretty reasonable.
