Coaches dont have much of a choice. Our D is bad in general so the ice time stat just tells me that gill is too old and slow, emelin and diaz are even more green than subban at the nhl level, kaberle is past his prime, campoli is 3rd pairing guy.... so you get the idea. Out of the defenseman, subban has the ABILITY to be the most dynamic but there is not really anyone on the squad that can push him to be better and take his ice away.
If it sounds like I'm being too harsh on subban, its because I have a pretty good feeling about what he is able to do with his god given talent, so I do have higher standards for him, and thats the way it should be for a potential star.
