If I'm Gomez, I maximize my chances to score that goal:

1-Get in front of the net (many goals go in even by hitting the guy's butt or leg).
2-I continuously throw the puck at the net (it might bounce off someone).
3-I get in position for a pass if there's an empty-net situation.
4-No extra pass on the PP: shoot.
5-2 on 1, 3 on 1; no pass, just shoot.
6-Get in rebound-rich zones, for example down low on the sides of the net.

Well, he still needs to spend the extra minutes in practice on his wrist shot.

It's passed the critical point, if he wants to score, he'll need to do more selfish plays.

I don't think he can be much more selfish. He always throws a useless piece of **** shot on net.

Four quick comments:

Plekanec needs help... Darche, Blunden and Moen are not top 6 material; Palushaj or Leblanc?

They should use Desharnais and Cole to jumpstart Bourque.

Kaberle and Campoli did ok against the PEN; I hope they carry on.

So... Gill in the SO?

IMHO we can blame Gomez for many things, but not for being selfish about his own problems. Even last night, he probably never asked to go 3rd in that SO. If he did all you have on your list just to end his goal drought, he'd put the team even more in trouble.

Maybe that's just me, but I don't think he's taking so many shots ON net

I don't think he has the luxury to pick the corners at this point. Just make sure it hits the net, anything can happen... The goalie might be out of position.

Yeah, Reimer hasn't played well after coming back from the "concussion like symptoms"

Gus has been great after the bad start, 10/14 .926 and <2.50GAA. If he can keep it up, he'll probably be signed, if not, then I guess like Tampa will sign him.

I think Domi is out for tonigt game with some upper body injury. Curious who replaces him.

Ahh, you're right. Looks like Drake Berehowsky is filling in for him.

Even if leafs win tonight, they still wont make the playoffs. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride for the greater good.
