In all our scoring we played a nice defensive effort. The hawks other than Hossa two breakaways didn't have that many chances.

What a game! Other then the Klein bonehead mistake leading to the Hossa breakaway and Rinne letting in the soft-backhand, everyone played solid. And no, I'm not slamming on Klein. It was a bonehead play, but he more than made up for it with a goal, and assist and a solid game overall.

There is no way that was Klein's fault. Hossa was playing Josi's side. Josi pinched in to take a pass from Wilson, and went behind the net. Wilson was supposed to rotate up to cover Hossa, which he did briefly, but then decided to cheat in looking for a pass. Hossa was open. Hammer got the punch. The rest is history.

I guess everyone who was saying we just beat the best team in the conference (or league) missed when Detroit won tonight.

Klein didn't make a mistake. Wilson totally forgot to rotate when Josi moved down below the hash marks and put Klein between a rock and a hard place.

KK was outstanding on a night where the whole team played pretty well (and had to against a team like Chicago). He continues to show that his early season form is the exception rather than the rule with him, and I have real confidence in him come playoff time.

Nine teams in the NHL have 60 or more points. Four of them are in the Central Division.

2 things...... You have to be kidding me to think that goal was Wilson's fault?
Also, the assist that Wilson lost was given to Hillen BY mistake!!! Should be changed!!!!! Finally gets rewarded for his play, and a mistake is made!

Not true.

Wilson was definitely at fault too, but a breakaway is ALWAYS the fault of the defenseman farthest back. If Klein sees Josi pinching in, he can (and should) back out to beyond the blue line if necessary until someone rotates back. Klein got caught because of Wilson's mistake, but Klein is ultimately responsible. Same thing as when a defender is taking a highly-contested shot from the blue line and it gets blocked, leading to a breakaway - most people would say that's the shot-takers fault for getting it blocked, and it is, but his defensive partner should drop back a bit in case it gets blocked.

With that said, it happens. And as I said - I wasn't slamming on Klein. Other than that mistake, he played a great game.

See my answer just above. Wilson was definitely at fault, but I'd guarantee you Klein would tell you that breakaway was the result of a mistake by him too.

Didn't get to see the game tonight, was out at the bars. I didn't expect a 5-2 score considering the opponent. Love this win.

Brb, gonna go gloat to my roommate who's a Chicago fan. lol.

What was the best line tonight?

Great game all around. We just can't catch a break though. Now at 60 points, 8-2 in our last 10, and still 4 pts out of 3rd in the division. Detroit, St. Louis and us are a combined 24-5-1 in the last 10! That's insane!

Unbelievable that Detroit obviously lays an egg against Columbus tonight, but then manages to win the shootout....arrrgh!!

Yes, we were better today. Which is very nice. But there were few things in our advantage.

Next to see how we will perform in back to back against them...

Meh, I give him a pass. Josi was skating around and left his post. It was going to be an odd man rush no matter what with Wilson not covering.

Klein has been a heck of a 2nd pairing defenseman of late. Would love to see him locked up for a while at a decent rate.

So, we don't stand a chance against their clearly dominant roster .... unless they're on the back end of a back to back?

I think he just means we were at an advantage tonight.. and we were clearly better. and he's like me.. anxious to see how we perform in a back to back in their barn.. tonight and the game against philly shows what this team can do. we just have to be more consistent in our zone and play good, hard fore checking game for 60 minutes.. and I like our chances against just about anybody
