A bad day for being called into work to put out a fire, but wow, I did manage to log into a steam about 2 minutes before Gabby scored. I am going to be watching this game in replay.

Uninformed as I might be right now, I`m giving first star to Gaborik.

Way to go Rangers, I actually felt good about this game yesterday. High stakes, high level of effort...

Though I had heard on NHLN a couple nights ago that Thomas had been struggling as of recently.

Was out snowboarding today, so I missed the game. How did they look?

I watched the McDonagh hit, he was using both arms to hold himself up when he was talking to Ramsey, I'm no doctor but that doesn't seem plausible if you're collarbone is broken or your shoulder is separated.

Concussion is possible, but for some reason I doubt it.

Maybe being a little over-optimistic, but I think he was just shaken up.

Regardless I'm proud our top players made them pay. I watched the highlights on NHL.com and Gaborik looked like a man possessed. Good.

Pretty solid defensive battle the whole game long. The refs played for the Bruins and we could've had more PPs (I think we had 2 the whole game, but probably could've hat at least 4 or 5). Anyhoot, good win against a good (and dirty) team. Glad we're still on top above those clowns.

Don Cherry said it was McD's fault because you have to know who's on the ice and who is chasing you, what a moron! 3 stars Cally, Gabby, McD

Neither really blamed McDonagh, they both just said that the game has changed and that "back in the day" it wouldn't even be a penalty. Cherry specifically and repeatedly said he's not blaming McDonagh, and Milbury said it would be a suspension.

They're both idiots, but let's be clear about what was said. I was listening intently as I figured one or both would pin it on McDonagh.

Milbury might have been the ref in this game, the officiating was horrendous, by the way neither retart pinned any blame on Ferrence...

The BETTER team won. Despite the Bruins having the game handed to them on a platter.
if you think the Bruins are overrated then so are the rangers.

the teams play damn near identical styles of hockey. theres a reason the rangers put so much faith in Gorton, he's the real mastermind here. similar teams, similar makeups, similar philosophy. its smart, hard, awesome hockey. its not always pretty, but its fun to watch if you like physicality.

3 to 5 for sure. Not less than 3.

If the league really wants to start eliminating hits like this, they should consider lengthening the suspensions to 7+ games.

Milbury must have played earlier in his career w/o a helmet , and met the endboards a few times with his fat head

I am seeing MDZ returning to some old bad habits.
Against the Penguins, he did that stupid thing where he makes snow angels against Malkin. All he accomplished was taking himself out of any possibility of helping. Watching today's game in replay, he does it again in the late parts of the second with that semi two on one.

What does he think that move accomplishes? He stopped doing that a while ago and I was super happy. Watching that bush way of defending just makes me want to say "Michael, you are better than that". There is a reason you don't see top defensemen doing that play unless it is the only play left to try.

Love ya Michael, stop making snow angels.
