I'm by no means a ''Let's start them 50/50'' guy, but I'm more of a 60/40 or 65/35 Marty. I just think maybe we should give Moose a few. So if Moose don't play against Buffalo he will have not played in almost 3 weeks at least, and that's if he is started in the Rangers game. He hasn't gone that long without a start. I think this may be the longest, but I'd have to check. He was the only guy for playing for those 3 weeks Marty was injured, and they always split back to back.

There have been 2 times randomly Moose was given a start that had nothing to do with back to back or Marty being injured. I think it was after Marty was killed against Toronto in November which was his first game back from injury. Moose started in Philly, and beat them in shootout, and then Moose was given the start in Carolina.

He's older than Terreri was in 98/01, and I remember Terreri would sit for long periods of time, and have bad games when he started or at least half the games were really bad from him at that time.

i think you're right about that as well. he just never seems to have great games against the rangers (recently). i'd love to see moose in net on the 31st but i don't see it happening.

looking at the schedule, two of the final three games against the rangers are back-to-backs. first february 26-27 they play the lightning and rangers. then march 19-20 they play the rangers and sens. so i'd say it's more than likely that marty gets those two rangers games (along with the other non-back-to-back rangers games) and moose would get the lightning and sens.

random fact: we play the islanders three times in one week - 3/4-3/10. that's weird.

Let's see how next Tuesday goes before yanking marty out of the rivalry games. The team in front of him needs to learn how to finish their chances and play with a big lead if they are unable to match intensity in the 3rd.

That is kind of a random scheduling quirk. It happened a couple years ago against the Leafs too, we had a mini-series against them that spanned the Phaneuf and Kovalchuk trades, which was pretty crazy.

i remember that. it would be kind a cool experiment to see the nhl do series during the regular season. it would never happen but it would be interesting.

I hate playing the same team that close to each other, both teams can adjust and makes things harder for consecutive wins. O well, gotta find points whereever possible at this stage, can't throw points out the window.

When it's a mini-series against the Islanders, we should come away with points. I'm not terribly worried.
