One other injured Flyers might make a long-awaited appearance, however. James van Riemsdyk, sidelined for more than a month with a concussion, was a full participant in practice and didn’t mind saying afterward that playing Saturday is a possibility.
“I’m feeling a little bit better,” van Riemsdyk said, “so I’m just taking it day by day.”
Van Riemsdyk acknowledged that he’s essentially been medically cleared for a return but qualified that bit of good news.
“It is and it isn’t up to me,” van Riemsdyk said. “It’s up to how I feel. In that way it isn’t up to me, unfortunately, and I wish it was, because if that was the case I would have been playing a month ago. it’s tough. I’m taking it day by day so I’ll see from there. You don’t want to screw around with it.”
