The reason I trade Clarke is because he probably still has some value you don't want to get into the situation you did with Webermin who at the trade deadline last year probably had a bit more value and you really could have put pressure on Owen Sound. Instead the value for Webermin plummeted and you got nothing of real value for your 1st round pick of last year. I don't think you want to deal your 2nd round pick Clarke in that same draft if his value is plummeting.

Furthermore everybody points to development how do you develop your 1st round pick, import pick, Studnicka etc.. if you have Clarke on the 3rd/4th line who doesn't bring much upside?

You have to tread lightly with dealing Khokhlachev, the team this year showed they were in a life boat without a paddle when Khokhlachev wasn't in the lineup. Unless guys like Strome and Hamilton get returned to Niagara next year why is there a big idea about dealing Khokhlachev? There's a terrific chance you already have that high import pick coming from Niagara there's no reason to deal Khokhlachev.
Rayzor

Isn"t the pick from NF the euro pick I mean a 1st rder next year"s euro draft

not this year

You are right Spits struggled when Koko not in the lineup going 1-5 this season

and have struggled now offensively with him slumping having scored only 3 times

in his last 14 games

You have to be careful if u are going to trade this guy as others have suggested

to do

As for Clarke, agree that he has struggled offensively but now he seems entrenched

on the 3rd line with maletta and Czinder it might unreasonable to expect a high

offensive output as he draws other teams best players to check

He does well on faceoffs and plays pretty good defensivlely

With 5 pts in his last 10 games, one may expect him to finish with 35 pts on the

season, not bad for a 3rd line rookie center with defensive responibilities

I do think he has some offensive abilities however i am not no sure how much

he will produce playing with the rookie Maletta and Czinder

our best defencemen going into next year hand down will be devlin

if we trade koko it has to be for a

top 10 import
93 that will be a good o/a
2nd
3rd

i would be happy with that... maybe even get a goalie as well

I wasn't considering any American's coming over and basically using what we have right now.

When I imply Clarke hitting a wall is not based on his point totals. What he has produced isn't ideal but same time he is still a rookie that is learning in this league.

When I state he hit a wall there have been many games he just seems overwhelmed, his skating was subpar, his penalty killing wasn't where it was, nor faceoffs but then other games he's one of better players. The lack of consistency is the issue with him imo.

A high end import and first round pick will be crucial for us as is the success of Dekort.

It's disappointing the development of the D. Going into last year they lost Fowler, Young, traded Cantin, traded Trojanovic. After last year though they had Robertson, Ebert, Duininck, Webermin and Posa all returning. Well 3 have been moved out and the D has still struggled. Over the past 2 years the D hasn't been as good as it needs to be. They will be around 250 GA each of the past 2 years which isn't good enough. Even in 07/08 the D was very young they only gave up 205 of course they scored 279. You can get away with mediocre D if you have guys that can put the puck in the net Windsor doesn't have that.

Curious.

I am considering coming down to Windsor tonight to watch the Plymouth-Spitfires play. Am I able to grab a single ticket at the box office (walkup) fairly easy?

I'd say probably. With it being Plymouth and the Mickey Renaud celebrations starting, it could be busier, but I don't expect a sell-out or anything.

Or five.

So far Alonge vs Miller - edge Miller and Bilcke vs Devane - edge Devane

Chippy game with a lot of pushing after every whistle. Cully was hit twice already in crashing crease garbage.

And goaltending lets Windsor down again not to mention the horrific PP again. They worked hard but they didn't get a result.

The boys deserved a better fate. Maletta is turning into a pane of glass. Any chance Elly can show up more often? As Ebert actually played with some drive. Cullen has to stop that goal, talk about the air going out of the building. Dreadful.

You are correct Spits definitely deserved better fate, whalers were badly outplayed

at even strength, the 2 crossbars in the 3rd hurt windsor nice luck for the whales

the seeing eye goal near the end of the game fro Plymouth was a killer

Kirby Rychel struggled offensively, as did Koko alot of flash and dash but no

results

Ebert was a stud tonite

Okay...posting as things come to mind...

- The Maletta hit might have been one of the strangest hits I've ever seen. He got clocked (looked like head-shot at first) and kind of stood there, staring into space, as if he was out cold, but standing up. Never seen anything quite like it. He started skating, stopped, and headed for the bench. Hopefully he's okay because it didn't look good.

- Oh Johnny Cullen...the guy can't catch a break. The third goal was something out of a video game. Zero chance on it. The fourth goal I still haven't figured out how it went in. Kind of reminded me of the Passingham goal.

- The PP...seriously, what needs to be said? Teams know it and we don't adjust.

- None of the fights surprised me. Alonge and Miller had a thing going last game in Plymouth, Bilcke and Devane is normal, and Malysa and Alonge had a thing this game. For Bilcke to get anything halfway decent against Devane is impressive. The guy is a monster and one of the best in the league.

- What's eating Kerby Rychel?

- I know it's one game, but what's up with Holden? I'm hoping it's just nerves or jitters. Otherwise...

- Dear Nick Ebert...SHOOT MORE OFTEN!!!

- I'm not one to normally complain about the officiating, but (and a real reason would be fantastic)...how do you hold a player's stick, right in front of the official, and get away with it? Even Marchese couldn't understand it. Yank, yank, Whaler won't let go, official shrugs it off. I simply don't understand it, though am more than happy to hear the actual reasoning.

- Fantastic to see Ryan Ellis at the ceremonial puck drop. He got a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng standing ovation. It looks like he's bulked up, too. I'd guess 5'9 160 now?

My dad sits right at the away team side of the Penalty box and told me that Devane's nose was bleeding so badly that they had to hose off the floor of the penalty box after he got out. His Jersey was also ripped pretty badly. While I still give the edge in the fight to Devane, Bilcke had a good go of it.

Ebert played good IMO for most parts except his defensive play could be improved (replay showed the second goal was related to his lack of defensive skills from what I saw). Otherwise he has played better than previous games.

That was a really good read. Ebert played his best game sence last season and hopefully he doesnt drink all summer and stays in Windsor so that he can get back on track.

Devlin, McNaughton, Bateman have all shown they deserve to be in the OHL and they all play great witch will make it easy for WR to trade either Posa or Braithwaite hopefully they continue to get better and with an Offseason in Windsor it should help but even if kids dont wanna stay because they wanna see there family they can still come for Check up weeks

as for trading koko i think that the only way WR trades him is if he gets a Goalie who is a 93, Teams import pick and a high level prospect. Even if the team he goes to is a team with a pick in the 20-30 range then you still have an import pick if you can also trade Pavs.

Hes played well over the past month. Alot of people I interact with at games have been impressed with his play. He seems to be getting back on track.

After reviewing the game tape from last night spits right to be upset the Ebert penalty

was brutal making it a 2 man disadvantage, the resulting play wound up a goal after

devane crosschecked Posa to the ice, turned around and knocked in the rebound

Goal should have been disallowed and penalty assessed to Devane

The same back ref Monette who called the Ebert farce as aleardi dressed it up failed to

call the crosscheck

The refs missed a hit from behind on rychel near the Windsor bench, the charge/head

check on maletta, and the holding the stick on Marchese behind the goal in the last 45

seconds contributed greatly to the Spits loss

Combined with 2 crossbars in the third, along with the seeing eye puck winner by the

whalers resulted in an unfortunate/unlucky loss

Have to bounce back tonite in London a tough task indeed
