I believe this is 13 straight games where the Spitfires have been outshot.
In more then half those games scoring chances were even or favored Windsor

I tend to look at scoring chances more so then shots on goal as a barometer

of the play

As a kid going to the barn, I always rememeber that old lady who wore all the pins on her shirt. She had to have had dozens of them. I think Windsor Arena actually has a mural of her on the side of the building. The Spits had a ceremony to honour her 100th birthday last year. It was the first time she'd ever made it to the WFCU.

Speaking of characters, I'm noticed one has gone missing from the WFCU Centre recently. What has happened to the elderly women who sits in the accessible seating section at the bottom of section 112? You know, the one who would bang her cane on the glass. She'd also turn around to try to get the crowd chanting. I'm sure you all know the lady I mean. I haven't seen her around in a couple months. Hopefully her absence isn't health related.

What's going on with the Kenny Ryan fan this year? Has she found someone new?

Has anyone actually talked to "Downie Nerd"? Curious, given I've known him for a few years.

Do I agree with the guy who gave the ref the finger every chance he got? No. Doesn't do anything. When an entire arena boos your calls, though, it does say something.

Quote:
With all do respect... he'll need to play well more than a game here and there if he wants the detractors to get off his back. He's far to inconsistent, he's lazy, and if you read any of his quotes (especially those about his recent draft rankings) you can see he has a huge ego about him. It's impossible to teach a kid that already thinks he's the best (which is the indication I get from people within the organisation).
This is sort of my opinion about it, too. If he gives off the humble approach off the ice and shows a desire to get the job done on the ice, I'd have no issues. Look at a guy like Bateman - he tries and he's very quiet off ice. Ebert, though, seems to think he's amazing and his play isn't backing it up.

Crazy Claude, anyone?

Those fans made the Barn unique but society in general has outgrown those antics.
Updating the off-ice, non-fan stuff is one thing. Nobody said you had to quiet the fans down, though. SSM is a loud, intimidating arena at times, as are London, Niagara, Erie, etc.

Having said that, you're getting angry at how fans in 103 yell at the refs too? I might suggest 103 can't wait for your reassignment either. And yes, there is no convincing me that the hat is anything but attention ploy. I thought that the very first time I saw it at the barn, and every time I've seen it since. That's fine if its your thing and all, but if you're going to piss on your fellow spitfire fans for doing their thing at the game you deserve a bit of the same treatment.

I don't aim to offend anybody at a Spits game. I don't swear and flip off people while around children. Call it atmosphere all you like, I don't claim to be an angel myself, but I'm respectful around children. If you can't understand why it's wrong to swear and be an ass around kids, then I can't help you.

As I said, you want to boo a call, that's one thing, but going on and on and ON during the play at the ref isn't accomplishing a damn thing. If anything you're probably annoying and further irritating the referee, and further hindering the team.

I embrace the fans getting riled when the opposing team does something dirty and rallies behind the team, or cheers them on, or even when a player is obviously dogging it and they get on them a bit. But don't curse and make obscene gestures around kids. 103 has a bunch of kids in it. If you can't articulate your point without cursing, you're a moron with a poor vocabulary

Windsor at London-1/27/12
Alot has happened since these 2 teams last met over 3 months ago in Windsor
London walked in and won 6 to 3 avenging the 5-2 loss earlier in the season in London
This loss was the beginning of the end for Campbell,Duininck and Kuhnhackl, though
Kuhnhackl missed both matchups
This was the game when the Spits benched rookies Maletta and Bateman,Campbell allowed 6 goals,Zach Macqueen tossed for that terrible head shot that injured Namestikov
for half a shift, resulting in a 10 game suspension and a week or so later Duininck, followed
by Kuhnhackl and Campbell were dealt for a cache of drafts mainly forever changing the
face of this franchise
In summary players no longer with the team since the last loss to london are
Duinink,Campbell,Cortellessa,Kuhnhackl,Webermin,an d Robertson
New to the lineup are Marchese,Braithwaite,Pavelka,Devlin. and the injured Derek Holden
Bateman,Maletta, and Posa who was injured for the last game against London come in as well
The Knights have made changes as well, adding brett Cook,Greg Mckegg,Austin Watson
and Tyson Teichmann
The Knights are banged up a bit with harrington Knight, one of the Ruperts maybe Maata
{flu} and possibly Tommy Hughes not in the lineup
The Knights have not lost 2 in a row this season, but they seem primed to get beat tonite
I expect John Cullen to get the call in goal, his super effort last friday helped the spits
beat sarnia
London native Micheal Clarke scored the hat trick the last time here and he has struggled
offensively lately big time scoring 3 goals in his last 37 games and has only 9 pts in that
stretch as well
It is imperative that Clarke,Czinder who has not scored in 11,Macqueen who has 2 in the
last 17,and Johnson who has 3 goals in his last 17 games to pick it up offensively
this team is relying too much on Rychel,Koko and Vail to do its scoring
Maybe a return home to London will perk up Clarke as well as jumpstart some others
Should be interesting tonite at Beer Case in London tonite
Will the real Spits team please stand up

I don't disagree with any of this. There are ample ways to heckle and be involved with the game that are kid friendly but still tasteless enough to be worth a chuckle. I know I make a point of not using foul language for that very reason, kids go to the games.

Fine, but your original point was that I should embrace people like Downie Nerd and the idiot drunk in the vest for the character they bring to the game when I pointed out they were cursing and flipping the bird at the refs. I get that Windsor has lunatic fans and that it makes for a cool atmosphere. I'd like to think I contribute to it. Half the morons in 103 go over the line night in and night out

During the first period intermission, if with Kerby, the over/under on how many times he says "oh for sure" is set at 3.5.

True, I don't know why I find it funny and necessary to count.

So im a little bit confussed why McNaughton is still Up with the spits i mean Yes hes good, has good speed, Puck movement, and a really good Wrist shot but he is on a B card and when we got him he had 6 games left for us before he is not aloud to play until his Junior B team is eliminated from the Playoffs. Now tonight is his 5th game with the Spits witch mean he has 1 more game before his B card is up and with Holden out another 2-3 weeks thats 6-9 games he is going to miss if he is out that long. I have No Problem having McCann play on D for a few games as the 6th Defence man/4th line Winger sence it looks like Bowen is not getting any ice time other then Pre game Warm ups

Also how is it that we Play good against the top Teams like Sarnia, London, Kitchener, Plymouth but then when we play Guelph, Saginaw, SSM, Erie they only play good for 20-30 mins

Perhaps they underestimate the lunch bucket mentality brought by the teams lower down in the standings? You've always got a chip on your shoulder when you're playing a team perceived to be at the top of the league.

Coincidence?

My guess is they feel more comfortable with MacNaughton being the 6th guy over MacCann or Bowen. Hopefully Holden is back soon.

Maletta gets another! It's not pretty but the kid will take it. Now to get him off the 4th line. With Alonge ejected and MacCann injured he should be on the 3rd line now lol

BB needs to get Clarke, Czinder and Johnson going again.

Clarke: First 29 Games 10G 8A 18 Points, Last 19 Games 1G 2A 3 Points
Czinder: First 29 Games 11G 8A 19 Points, Last 18 Games 1G 3A 4 Points
Johnson: First 23 Games 0G 4A 4 Points, Last 25 Games 11G 8A 19 Points

Now i knw Johnson has been better the Last 25 Games then in the first 23 but Czinder and Clarke came out Guns A Blazing with a Combined 21 Goals 16 Assists for 37 Points in the first 29 games but only 2 Goals 5 Assists for 7 Points in the last 18-19 Games now if we were winning almost every game then it wouldnt matter as much because they would be doing the little things right but you cant count on Koko, Rychel, Vail and Marchese to score every game. Now the Defence needs to Contribute on and Off the score sheet for us to have a good chance every game

Yes i know but when his B card is up Holden will still be out and you cant have 5 D every game and he doesnt need to play alot just when you want to rest the top guys and im happy Bateman is playing alot more now

Not only do we Lose both games this weekend but Guelph Wins 3-0 over Niagara, SSM wins 3-1 over Erie witch makes the final weeks very important i still believe it will take the final 3-5 games to figure out who makes the playoffs

Windsor vs London-game 3 of 6
Score does not reflect play essentially a 1 goal game, special teams and experienced
newcomers,McKegg,Watson,Cook and return of Knight killed the much younger spits
As I said before PP misses Holden, especially on the 5 on 3 situations
Match penalty to Alonge was bogus and it did effect momentum for a stretch
2 glorious misses by Koko, including the penalty shot played out large
Houser was solid and outplayed Pavelka, again a vet against a youngster,as well Pavelka
took an ill advised penalty pp goal cost team the game in the end
Youngsters Bateman and Maletta played well ,and maletta does deserve more ice time
as his confidence is climbing
To me all in all pretty decent effort on the road, just not good enough to win
A weeks rest and decent practice must just be the tonic going forward
By the way I would have started Cullen, not because Pavelka played poorly against
saginaw but because Cullen Played well on the road against sarnia

Pavelka's new mask looks pretty cool. Anyone know what that character is on it? It looks familiar I just can't place it.
