I think u are refering to Micheal
Downing a 16 year old d-man playing in the USHL,who actually has committed to U of Mich, and at last report seemed intent in honoring his committment

Going to be an interesting draft for the Sting.

Few names to watch that might (key word) fall to Sarnia at 13th;
F Dante Salituro (hunch that it's him they covet)
F Brook Hiddink (Essex boy with great all-around potential)
F Sam Bennett (McDavids wingman, great feet)
F Brett Hargrave (best power forward in the draft maybe)
G Liam Herbst (doubt they take a G this early but he's one of the better ones to come along in past 5 years)
F Spencer Watson (London connection might have already promised Knights something)
F Damien Bourne (heard Sting like him a lot. He's a big F who's decent)

There are also several 1st rd talents from the US (who have NCAA/NTDP commitments) that are appealing. They'll like fall because of this but hoping the Sting pursue their interests

I'd fully expect the Sting to draft the Ciccarelli boy, Matteo, too in the later rounds.

What is Jacko going to do with his goaltending situation? Hopey should get the green light but they didn't do much to give him the experience and confidence to take over the role of starter I don't think.

Pray haha. No seriously

I've got to think the Sting will give Hope the reigns and see what he can do over the first few months. After that they will access their spot in the standings and maybe acquire help (again) of needed. With most dmen retirning they'll likely be a little more syable on the backend...we hope so (again). I'm sure Jacko will move some bodies in the offseason again.

There are a few solid G options available in the draft but several of them seemed destined to be (unofficially) spoken for by other teams.

The Sting were woo'ing '96 born G Ryan Hergott (Kitchener Jr Rangers) at several home games this season. The 6-3 netminder doesn't appear to be a big name at the OHL draft but maybe the sting use a pick on him.

The Sting also have '95 born Gunner Rivers (awesome name) who impressed me in training camp last year. Maybe he's destined for a backup role soon

Plenty of questions surrounding the goaltending. Let's hope Hopey can lead this team once given a string of starts

Pray for sure! We have done such a pathetic job at goaltending its a disgrace. Year after year we do the same yet expect different results. How many agents would want there goalie to report here with are track record of goalie development? Like Youngblood said in another thread we have proved this year again that it didnít matter whose in net, if it was Maxwell, Anderson or Hopey no one was going to be successful back there until are defencive system is addressed. Granted all of are D should return but with the same coaching and systems in place will are back end truly be are strength? To add to the problem the Sting need to address the goalie coach situation. I remember reading earlier in the year about going after McKichan, I believe he is from the Strathroy area. Or are we going to just continue with employing friends? If its going to be a priority we need to bring in someone more qualified, he has the credentials. Hopey is the ultimate team player and hard worker. Heís loved around town (my daughter included oh boy.) But will he even return after the way Jacko treated are youngins this year? Or we will need two new goalies and Iím sure thatíll even cost more out of are cupboard and continue are decade long cycle of poor goalie development and the revolving door.

Michael Downing & Alex Talcott both have commitments to suit up in 2013 for the Michigan Wolverines

well boucher and murphy and deangelo had committments last year and ended up here. hell lots of kids have university committments and change there minds. im hoping the michigan kids from over there help the team out and encourage them to come take a look. maybe at least mini camp. boucher and hopey and brown could talk them into it. mott is from there to and is also sting property.

BIG fan of both of these players, Hargrave and Renaud. Much needed size to help out with net presence as well as boards work.

Great draft, I think we picked up some really strong players. Lots of size and hard workers, something the sting desperately were lacking.
