Trade Proposals and Rumours Part XXI

I assumed once a mod locked the other one that they'd start a new one, but it's been locked for an hour so I'm starting a new one.

If Ruutu does cost less than Prospal, the Senatrolls should be all over that.

Yeah, I was at work and had to close my window quickly, so I didn't get a chance to make a new thread.

We better if that's the case. I'd have a hard time seeing this being the case though.

Okay, glad to see I'm not alone. I assumed because of youth Ruutu would cost more.

I would make sweet love to BMurray's choice of woman if he finds a way to get Volchy back.

Fav player to ever play for the sens, second fav player only to Getzlaf

Evander kane may be available should we target him if he is a good scoring left winger who is young and would fit right in our rebuild

That's unfortunate, seeing that Evander Kane should be the face of that franchise for many years to come.

It defiantly is and every jets game ive went to he had a huge game and absolutely got the crowd into it (including the on against Ottawa on the 29th) That being said many Winnipeggers are just plain ******** (not saying all my best friend lives in winnipeg and there are some nice people) it definatly isnt good publicity for a city that doesnt have much else going for them to attract free agents

1st + Puempel + Gryba

Thats the maximum I'd offer for Kane. He's not going to be traded though so its kind of pointless to debate I guess. What does Winnipeg need anyway?

It would probably take at least Zib and the Sens' first-round pick to acquire Kane. Even that package probably isn't quite enough.

Yeah and I don't know if I'd want that to happen either. Who knows how good Zibanejad will be and Kane hasn't really exploded offensively yet.

Are you serious? Basically you're saying at least two 1st rounders for Kane?
Um...no.

2 first rounders (minimum) for kane sounds about right.

in real terms, evander's minimum cost is a 1st and a 3rd rounder (if he reaches RFA status, making ~$3.1 -- 900k base salary, 2.2m from bonuses -- on his last year of the ELC, and we/another team offfer sheets him).

no way winnipeg deals for anything less than that since his compensation as RFA is is fairly high. evander's looking to be a legimate 30+ goal scorer, but so is kessel and look where toronto is.

Why in the hell would winnepeg give up a 20 year old of that calibre? Forget this talk about Kane there is no substance to it. Its just silly.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Evander Kane is an elite powerforward who has 40 goal, 80 point potential. He has great speed, a great nose for the net, and is worth two first round picks, WITHOUT A DOUBT.

And for the rest of you all:

Would Sens fans do this?

If this were offered, and the NMC were waived, how would my fellow Sens fans feel about a deal like this, if it were offered? :

To EDM :

7th in 2012

To OTT :

Horcoff
1st in 2012

Oilers get rid of Horcoff, one of the worst (maybe THE worst) contracts in the league, and free up space to resign Hall, Eberle, RNH, Paajarvi, etc in the years to come, and Sens use some of their ample cap space to take on the cap dump but get a high pick in a deep draft for doing Edmonton the favour.

We should still have enough space to resign Karlsson, Cowen, Turris, Zibby, 2012 first, etc going forward, especially with the Alfie, Cheechoo, and Emery buyouts off the cap after this year (frees up almost 2 million in cap space right there, which absorbs roughly 1/3 of Horcoff's cap hit).

Maybe we add a middling prospect too, like a Gryba for example.

Don't flame too hard, but what do you all think?

P.S. For those that don't know, Horcoff has a 5.5 cap hit for 3 years after this one.
