Such as the phantom goalie interference call on Knuble. Just typical, Montreal typical.

Lol, in that case watch out Ovechkin. Milbury really despises him. Going back to McGuire, at least he will do whatever DH asks. The guys worships DH as much as he does Crosby and Laich. I can imagine the business meetings, lol.

That is too bad. I didn't think he was too bad on his call up. Best he get play time than sit on the bench though.

Hindsight reigns supreme.

Had Bruce actually first tried Corvo in the roles he was thrust into during the Montreal series, perhaps he wouldn't have been called vaporlocked by the local media .

We all know it was Green and Ovi on the points for the full two for the full regular season. When the PP finally crapped the bed, Bruce out of desperation shook up the PP points, but it was the first Corvo had been there all year.

What in the world was Corvo doing at left point? Nothing as it turned out. Almost predictably, it failed. There was no excuse to ride Green as the only D on the PP for 7 f'in months before the big show.

Last year, it was Carlson going down. Alzner had zippy experience with anyone else. Yet everyone seemed stunned to the suggestion of breaking them up. They played in Hershey. Whoopdie ****ing do. The Hannan Alzner pair failed. As did Green Erskine. They rarely to never played together.

I am still thrilled to see Hammer Carlson. I don't care how bad they look. It was long overdue. I want to see Carlson get PP time, and stop trying to only utilize his still shaky defensive game.

Wasn't Carlson out there on the PP when he made the turnover that lead to the first goal in Carolina?

Carlson's been pretty shakey all over. For as happy I am to see Orlov's form given his age, I'm concerned about JC's regression in a year.

Yep, it looks like for all of 3 seconds PPTOI before the shorty. Given how badly he has sucked defensively, I figured it may not hurt to let him actually have a greater chance to offset those repeated glaring problems he has been having. By racking up a few more points, try to get some confidence.... or something going. Hands in victories.

I imagine the switch to man hasnt been easy. But I have seen signs of him manning up and being more physical. Its still early all around.

what i found funny was doc and then eddieO saying they thought carlson should be on the first pp unit. wideman is going to the allstar game. what about that says having him on the first pp unit is a mistake?

Biggest clue that they hadn't watched much Caps this season, I thought.

you would think that the most basic show prep would have shown wideman rather than carlson on the allstar team. thats a clue. wideman is not a new player. they should know he's not brooks orpik

Wait, I get it. They were rooting for the Pens and wanted Hunter to screw things up. Makes perfect sense.

Thank you.

Saw on Twitter from Katie that GMGM was at Kettler but had to leave and no one knew the reason. Think it was because of the suspension or?

Well this season is pretty much done unless GMGM gets off his ass and improves the defense and center position. Backstrom will be out for a while and ovi isn't gonna wanna play hard anymore

the 2 weeks following the ASG are going to be real exciting, or extremely disappointing around here, GMGM is gonna be in the hot seat unless he starts getting busy on the phones.

Now I'm mentally preparing for the 3 losses in a row, hoping it doesn't happen.

Mods, the boards are acting up. This post from 2007 just hit this thread for some reason.

You really want GMGM to give up our prospects to try to fix this mess? What will another player or two do to help the team at this point? I could understand if everyone was on the ice.

How about we add a healthy Backstrom or maybe a Green? I think that would be the best we could do.

To be honest, I think it's go deep in the playoffs this year or McPhee gets canned. That's why.

But our defense has been bad for a long time, so why not improve it for once?

This is my first time feeling unconfident in this team since Hanlon was fired.

The last thing we need is him making moves to try to save his job. That never goes well.

So, Hunter will need a miracle to get a single point with Ovy, Green, and Backstrom out of the lineup. Is there really no rental forward deal we can work out without selling the farm, or better yet, McPhee does his job and makes a hockey trade that improves the team both short and long term.
