Andrei Kostitsyn said he's willing to accept less money than his free agent market value if it means staying in Montreal.

I'd keep him for less. He's physical and skilled. What this team needs.

Wow! That's awesome, really wasn't expecting that at all.

Much better than Spacek's quote, also found on MA Godin's twitter; Jaroslav Spacek: "I'm very happy to be gone from that circus in Montreal."

this is interesting. I would still like to trade him if we can get a first rounder in the middle of the round, but if his market value isn't that high this certainly makes it easier to keep him.

He want an extension before July 1st, not everyone like to move, if I was Gauthier I would offer him 2-3 more years at same salary or slightly better.

It's funny that one of the first player in ages willing to take a ''pay cut'' to stay in Montreal is Kostitsyn, the lazy russian who doesn't give a **** about the city and is only here for the money.

yes, how dare he be happy to leave the city where he was constantly being **** on by the media and fans and where he was thought so lowly of by management Gauthier didn't even say goodbye after he traded him. I can't blame him one bit for being glad he is out after what the city put him through.

He'll be getting a very nasty call from his agent very very soon.

Does not surprise me, he feels comfortable here.

Andrei is a good example of the type of player you want to keep. He is drafted and developed within the organization, and comes at good production per contract cost.

You are acting like the agent isn't employed by Andrei.

A lot smarter than his brother...

I hope we'll get a good return for him at the deadline.

Trade him to a contender before deadline, get a good pick or prospect in return, then sign him back this summer
