I'm a big fan of clowe and his game but honestly i wouldn't move kadri straight up for clowe.

pardon me if im mistaken but isnt Grabo a UFA like next year?

if so then

he is next to worthless compared to Clowe, kadri isnt an nhl player yet and a 2nd doesnt help as well. basically SJ needs to win a cup like yesterday and kadri+2nd pick+ufa doesnt equal arguably a top 5 power forward in the league going into a playoff stretch...SJ gets burned

really makes me wonder how long finesse players vs power forwards aka playoff winners can be debated....honestly it stand reasonable chance both teams make the playoffs this year(especially sj)...clowe vs kadri while going for a cup...comeon man not even close

What isn't evident about the urgency of Sj needing to go to the cup and or win the cup this year? Thornton,Marleau,Havlat,Handzus etc wont be here forever, san jose knows they need to strike quick which is why they made the offseason deals they did. Grabo/Kadri and a pick do NOTHING for getting them a cup this year...NOTHING. You have to assume in a 7 game series Boston/NY/Phili stand to be in the eastern cup slot....if SJ wants to match with those teams physically this year and beyond they need Clowe not....'easily bumped off the puck cant stick in the nhl yet kadri'

I'm sorry but right now sure clowe is a more effective player but who trades there top prospect for a player who's 30 years old and has a career high 62 points. Seems pretty stupid to me.

My fellow fans might smite me but I'd be willing to work out a deal involving Lupul and Clowe+

depends...depends on how you see kadri developing. From what I've watched I see another Grabo/Kulemin clone...nevr quite pieced together the 2way game clowe has, have zero gritt and rely on their speed to make it happen. I see endless potential in Kadri's speed and stick handling/playmaking however his physical game.hockey iq/2way game etc dont watch clowe's...and again I point out the CONTEXT OF THIS PROPOSAL. Sj has zero motivation to move proven scoring/gritt commodities if anything with havlat a ? they wanna add wingers and go for a cup

And you know what? I'd still take Clowe (a big bodied winger) over Grabovski. Where does Grabovski fit in the SJ lineup? Thornton, Pavelski, Couture?

Even I think SJ says no on this. Kadri isn't effective as an NHL player at this point. The 2nd is more or less useless and I'd prefer Clowe over Grabovski. I don't think the Sharks can afford Grabovski after the season either.

I think you are entirely over rating Lupul's trade value if you think the Sharks have to add to Clowe. Lupul is having an amazing season. Teams are going to worry if this season is the real Lupul or if the Lupul the past several seasons is the real Lupul. Lupul holds a lot lot more value to the Leafs then he does to a team trying to trade for him.

The + better be Couture or Pavelski.

Other way, no thanks. We'll keep our best player.

So why would San Jose go and downgrade their team?

san jose has no reason to trade clowe

he's what they need more of in the playoffs.

Why would we trade him for anything less? He's exactly the type of player we need, 3rd in scoring, and is our best overall player.

We will gladly keep him.
