How ridiculously clutch is this guy? I mean it doesn't even make sense! I know Sid had a sick run last year with more points, but I honestly can't say he has come through in the same moments #71 has this year.

I would not be surprised if Bylsma did just that. Crosby needs his own "Neal".

On both the tying and winning goals, Malkin made absurd puckhandling maneuvers along the boards before the actual scoring chances came about. That's the kind of board play I've always associated with Crosby; Geno's been more of a middle-of-the-ice, north-south threat. The body control and patience along the boards is something new for him, and it's a scary dimension for the rest of the league.

Yep.
And he should really have had more points by now if some of his teammates had converted more of the incredibly amount of chances he creates weeks in weeks out.
Sid's sick run was incredible but you could say he was perhaps a tad bit lucky to get that many goals because he is not a natural goal scorer (even though he has improved his shot).
With Malkin, you don't have this feeling.
So incredible to have both players in our team and i really really hope Sid will come back in great form.

He's also utilizing his linemates (including kunitz) and playing smart hockey.

Didn't say he was a bad coach, but he has so many questionable things he does. But i'm not turning this into a Bylsma thread.

LOL I normally do too but Malkin is in the zone like he's never been before. You're kind of just waiting for him to score. Been playing some great hockey without Sid and Staal and it was really nice to beat the Caps and Rangers over the past week.

Got to comment on this stupidity . . . Martin had nobody on him. Malkin streaks up ice. If Martin were the 5M defensemen so many people keep claiming he is, then he makes a quick, sharp outlet to Geno (one guy was behind Martin, one guy was in front on the boards, and there was a huge gap to make that pass and spring Geno one on one). Instead, Martin makes some softy pass up with wall to the Cap standing there, which in turn creates the sequence that leads to the Neal penalty. So, yeah, I'm going to ignore the fact that Geno, seeing his 5M defenseman has the puck with time and space and an open lane to make a stretch pass to him as he's streaking out of the zone, got caught up ice because Martin was a total **** up on that play. O'k?
