No brainer as in you'd have to have no brain to even make the trade if you're LA

With the number of quality prospects they have in reserve, Los Angeles could make some serious noise over the duration of the season.
If they're direction is prospects without much of NHL experience LA would be perfect if they're willing to risk that contract which I doubt since they already have made that risk which hasn't exactly helped them out either in the standings

IMO LA wont be in any Carter talks but that's just IMO.

Teams I see that have the budget, assets and willingness to take a risk are NYR, Buffalo, Montreal, Detroit, NYI, Minnesota and Toronto. If Carter is moved look at these teams with the NYI as my best feeling to where Carter lands if traded.

I've always found Carter overrated and not somebody I'd want to build a team around because he is not a go to player or a leader. He's injury prone, soft, contract lasts forever, off ice issues...

Not a player I would trade nice assets for unless I'm as desperate as Columbus was to bring in a top 6 forward.

You guys seem to have the pieces for him as well.

Bernier would look very attractive to CLB.

The good thing about Wolski's contract is that it's up after this year. It still won't have 8 years remaining on it.

With Carter's cap hit, the 11 years is a plus, not a negative.

Wolski is just a negative period.

I am not sure New York City is the place I want Carter near. Especially with The Casino's and Bars so close.

Im sure itd cost more.

Id begin with something like Roy and Ennis/Stafford for Carter and a Pahlsson/Dorsett type

They need an actual top 4 defender in return. I don't think MAG is a top 4.

Huh? Voynov is currently playing 18 minutes a game and he's third on the team in D-man scoring.

Do not forget Nick Cousins. He was the pick they got in the 3rd round as part of that deal. He is playing very well in the OHL. If Jeff goes to an established team where he does not have to be the main guy. Watch out! We all here in Philly knew Nash and Jeff were a bad fit for each other. That being said, I was hoping that the trade worked out for both teams. I know I love both the Carter and Richards trades. Holmgren pulled two sweet deals and we still have a 2nd rounder yet to use.

I still don't understand the argument...

While Carter may have a decent cap hit, you're stuck with him for 8 more years. It doesn't matter how much of a negative Wolski is right now, he will be gone in some 40 games (if not sooner). Why be stuck with another near decade contract when the person you're trying to get rid of will be gone very soon. And on top of that you're asking us to give up one, if not two of our core players. Makes absolutely no sense.

Jeff Carter to Toronto makes sense.

Clarke MacArthur, Carl Gunnarsson and a pick (1st in 2012 or 2013).

How does it make sense? Burke does not like big contracts, and he won't be a good fit with Kessel. I think and hope that the Leafs pass.

Carter plays well with Joffrey Lupul (see his career season in 2008/09). When you have two guys on the same line that can put up 300+ shots and are threats to score constantly, they make space on the ice for eachother.

You're not going to get Getzlaf or Staal.

Carter would shine in Toronto.

When he's on his game, he's one of the best big body goal scorers in the league.

Lupul - Carter - Kessel
Lupul - Carter - Kadri
Kulemin - Carter - Kadri

Those lines work.
