Horton being evaluated for head injury

http://www.nesn.com/2012/01/nathan-h...he-flyers.html

Not surprised. Will the NHL review that hit and suspend Sesito?

Best of luck to Nathan. Poor guy can't catch a break.

I hope Shanny takes a look at a couple of those cheap dirty hits . It seems like we loose players to injury whenever we play the fkn flyers.

Best wishes for Nate to feel better soon.

Review? Suspension? For hits against the Bruins? Surely you jest.

Two head shots by the Flyers, two Flyer power plays as a result, two PP goals. If that isn't effed up, I don't know what is.

I still can't believe that he wasn't tossed from the game. If that had been a Bruin, he would have gotten a five minute, game misconduct, and a phone hearing in the morning. Hooray for fairness across the league.

Hartnell on Kelly could have been dangerous, thank goodness Chris didn't hit his head on the ice. I hope the B's re-sign Kelly, love that guy.

I hope PC and CJ are asking Shanny to review enough dirty calls. That they let the Subban-Krejci hit go was pretty shocking, I hope they're demanding justice when it's needed.

How does that work ? Can PC and CJ request Shanny to look at those hits ?

I didn't see most of the game but I hope Horty is ok. The only hit I saw was on Kelly and I'm ticked about that.

I'm about to watch the game via dvr so I'll keep my eyes open for it.

I do hope, based on all I'm reading, that the league reviews things.

Headshots should be automatic game misconducts. There is a huge difference between them and plays like what happened with Ference.

Glad to see CJ speaking up a bit when updating the media on Horty.

My understanding is that yes, they can submit plays for review.

I believe they can put a tape together and submit it to the league.

My guess is that the league was watching based on the their past history and that will automatically trigger any sort of review.

ugh....

that play was eerily reminiscent of Cooke on Savard only a bit less violent. But still incredibly dangerous.

Hope Horty is okay and there is no lingering effects and back into action sooner than later.......

On a side note.....how long before "the greatest and smartest" fans come on our board to say that it was a clean hit and that Sesito will only get suspended because Jacobs has the league in their pockets!!! Can we create a bet thread for this......

Yeah, I know, silly me for wanting things to be fair. It's a dog eat dog world, some get away with murder, while others go to jail for jaywalking. The Bruins appear to be jaywalkers this year.

I so hear you on them scoring on penalties after the head shots. Many thanks go to Chris Rooney and Dan O'Halloran! I to their greatness!

Let's just recycle the old 'He put himself in a bad position and caused himself to be injured" song and dance that we heard so much of when Bergeron was injured by oh so innocent Randy Jones.

Or "it was a clean hit" ala Matt Cooke. But Ferrence did.........never mind, he's a Bruin.

I thought the 6-5 228 4th liner who isn't good enough to play in the NHL didn't fly anymore.

The most ludicrous part of all of this garbage hitting that we are seeing (not close to being Flyer/Bruin games only) is that teams just can`t react the way they should be able to in order to let the other team know they won`t stand for that kind of play as they consistently are the one`s who get tossed in the box as their teamates are being peeled off the ice unable to stand on their own or have no idea what city they are in.

I`m not into Barbarian hockey, but clearly the whole instigator rule has to be examined, the Kelly/Horty hit are absolutely, 100% avoidable if the players wanted to, there should have been no issues at all for either to pull up and avoid either player

Did he even play a minute in the final 10 or 20 mins?? Guy plays 8 minutes of goon hockey, can`t take/give a pass, can`t skate yet he can eliminate real players from the ability of playing and Horty snags the deuce after the hit

I don't care if the flyers useless dirtbag callup gets suspended.
His dental work from his stupid check in the first will probably cost more than his salary.

I would rather have Shanahan (really Gregg) suspend the two incompetents who let the Flyers headhunt all game.

It would be a disgrace if Horton has to sit out with a concussion because of that stupid palooka

Yea I don't want these guys in the league. I know the Bruins have the reputation for being dirty but every single guy on the roster can play meaningful minutes.

Wrong color jersey. I think the refs meant to eject Kelly for hitting Harnell's shoulder with his head.

Honestly the Hartnell charge on Kelly was the most dangerous of the lot. Still not really sure if Sestito got Horton's head but it was late, blindside and resulted in injury so it seems like it might be tough for Shanny to justify no review at all.

Ference just got suspended for a charge that didn't injure the player, so Shanahan better get his butt in gear and ready to explain why this charge wasn't dangerous. Of course he doesn't have to, if he doesn't want to and he probably won't.

I am really developing a persecution complex, and it mostly centers on what the league is choosing to not review rather than what they are reviewing and handing out suspensions for.

That rep is so misguided, the Bruins play tough, the issue with this team (Bruins) is that they have character, and guys who have character and play with integrity don`t flop, embellish injury, overstate hits, unfortunately, more than a few of the teams they play do all of the above and now this team seems to have touched a nerve with the NHL head offices too.

As crap as it is to see Bruins getting tagged like this, I`ll hold my head up high being a fan of guys who have more cruton`s in their pinky fingers than most teams do in their entire body.
