Why not move Nino and Rolston? This way we don't keep one of our top prospects on a checking line with pandolfo and tim wallace... they are screwing his progress up so bad... at least put him w. bailey and see what happens...

The Islanders HF crowd knows how bad Rolston is but Garth, Jack, and the rest of the team don't see these limitations?

Come on guys.

He's not producing, but the team is playing really well...and he's part of the team...the Bailey line is getting chances and seems to be developing some chemistry like the other lines.

No, this is not just about the paycheck...that's shortsighted.

Intangibles guys...intangibles...

It's a 35+ contract (just checked capgeek) so if he goes to the AHL he still counts against the cap.

Garth won't do it to him, and he shouldn't. Kind of a respect thing but Rolston should be demoted to the 4th line with Nino being bumped up.

For next season, I think Trent Hunter could fill Rolston's role at a fraction of the cost. I think Trent was traded for cap reasons last summer. Rolston has 8 points in 39 games whereas Trent has 7 points in 33 games. Any opinions?

I've defended him all year but now its time to give up. they should just send him wherever the hell Reasoner is hiding and bring up Ulstrom

Rolston from the blue

Hey guys I am always reading the forums and checking them out and my friend finally convinced me to create an account and talk some hockey...

So first and foremost why does he keep shooting it from the blue line, it isn't even like he is creating rebounds and no one is driving to the net does he think he is Steve Yzerman trying to win the Stanley cup???

Charles Wang is not paying this guy to play in the AHL. It's ALL about the paycheck, nothing more. I don't think Nino has earned a promotion to the Bailey line, but Ullstrom was playing just fine before he got hurt. So why not sit or demote Rolston and bring up the more effective player - especially playing with that line as Ullstrom showed some chemistry with Bailey before the injury? Simple, it's the salary.

You talk about intangibles? Pandolfo brings intangibles. Penalty killing, shot blocking. The guy is clearly over the hill but he busts his ass every night to do the best he can. I'd love to see Rolston be half as good as Pandolfo is right now. Rolston brings nothing. No skill, no speed, no physicality and no intangibles.

Lol at the Steve Yzerman reference! But yeah pretty much soon as he touches the Puck doesn't matter where on the ice he pulls up a shot that's 20 feet wide of the net. He's terrible and hopefully off the team as soon as possible!

hi welcome. we have a Rolston thread on the first page. please look for existing threads before you make a new one.

and why does he shoot from the blueline? Because he's not fast enough nor does he have the stickhandling ability to do anything else.

I have a running theory that he misses the net on purpose so it rims around the backboards & goes back out into the neutral zone & basically traps him on the ice. It's his way of ensuring he gets ice time. waka waka

It's more predictable than Comeau's ice laps in the offensive zone

I've never really understood the idea that players making a lot of money needed to play. The amount of money you're spending is the same regardless of whether the player plays 2 minutes a game or 20.
