Probably the Ravens, but they blew it too. Everyone is focusing on BC missing the field goal (and they should), but the Evans play was bizarre too. People are slagging him for not securing an easy TD catch that would have been the game, whereas I'm wondering why it wasnt ruled a TD on the field to begin with? IMO, anywhere else on the field, that's a reception and a fumble, but in the endzone, it should have been a TD. I THINK the only reason it wasnt ruled a TD on the field is because as he was turning, his back is to all the officials and they cant see it, because in the replays, it sure as hell looks like a good catch and a strip (which in the enzone is a TD) to me.
Well there's that too, but nobody has brought it up in the conversation thus far. But the "forward progress" call was the key to the Giants not losing in regulation so I saw it as more dramatic to the outcome. Who knows, maybe Manning would have scored a Hail Mary TD on "third and forever", it happens once in a blue moon
I wanted it to be a catch as I wanted the Ravens to win in the worst way but it wasn't. He never maintained possession with two feet down and even he takes personal responsibility for letting everyone down by not catching that.
Yes, I said the NYG should have their way with NE as I expect them to control both lines of scrimmage. How does what happened in the SF game affect my view though on how the Giants match up against the Pats?
Why would you expect the Giants defense to "control" the Patriots offense? The Giants pass defense is pretty bad, and the Pats have a great passing game.

No, he definitely had 2 feet down.
My other question is, why didnt Baltimore at least challenge the call?

The pass coverage is bad, and Fewell's zone schemes don't work. But the pass rush is excellent. If Brady has time, he'll pick the Giants apart. If the front four get consistent pressure, he might not burn them so much.
I'd have to see it again, but my original impression of the play was that he only had one foot down before the ball was stripped.
And I thought you can't challenge when there is under 2 minutes left in a game? That would have to be a booth review, right?

What part of controlling the line of scrimmage did you miss? Brady without time is a mere mortal. He dissects teams when allowed to drop back with time.
I agree the Giants secondary has been hit with many injuries and isn't the strength of their team but the defensive line is the equalizing force that allows them to play well.
Hey I could be totally wrong, I thought NO was going to beat SF. This is why I rarely bet .
Also the drop happened in the last 2 minutes, there is no coaches challenge. Think what you want but it wasn't a catch.
Didn't the Patriots only beat 1 playoff team (Denver) in the regular season?
I didn't even realise that until now. Still, can't use that against them anymore, because they have beaten two playoff teams to get here now. Clearly they had an easier season, but I wouldn't call them a paper tiger. Everybody knows what Brady can do.

Not calling them a paper tiger either. But using records to compare the two teams isn't very apt. Giants went 4-0 in the AFC East. They could have possibly approached 13 wins in the Pats' shoes. I think the 2 teams are very even for the record.

I haven't looked it up but I don't doubt it. The AFC east wasn't nearly as good as it usually is and the AFC east played the AFC west & NFC east this year. AFC west...enough said...and the NFC east was very up and down this year so it depended when you caught the opponent.
