Found the video to match the thread. Oilers practice (black uniforms). Renney wearing the beret.

Here's a brain teaser for you guys: if the Edmonton Oilers (29th in NHL) played the OKC Barons (1st in AHL), what would the score be after 60 minutes?

Remember, Nelson employs a persistent forecheck, something the Oilers are vulnerable to.

Rangers played half the season without Marc Staal in their D corps. They've had Jeff Woywtika play 26 games for them.

In other words, other teams have lost key players and seemed to cope fine, yet in our case, everything falls apart. Why is that?
Lack of depth. Yes the Rags lost Staal, but they have Del Zotto who has stepped up his game to go along with McDonagh, and Girardi.

PHI is just all around deep.

have you noticed what plante and chorney look like here? they are their best Dmen

hall and eberle would both have hat tricks, they would make Smid look like bobby orr, and make belanger look like a 1st line center (ok so that might be a stretch, belanger sucks).

this is silly

Well the depth part falls on management.

But moreso than that, we completely fall apart. I'm not saying we should be competing for 10th in the league, but atleast stay a little bit competitive.

What about a team like Nashville. They've had Fisher, Legwand and Erat all miss time in the past, yet they get into the playoffs.

I'm not expecting this team to make a play for 10th in the conference or playoffs or anything, what I would hope is that we play competitive hockey. There is a chance that we let in another 4-5 goals tonight.

I honestly believe that the best outcome for tonights game is a blowout loss for the Oilers. Force the senior management to make a change. And send Horcoff either to the minors or a trade if that is even possible at this point. Then give the C to Hall. He can't be the captain as long as Horcoff is still here. It would cause too much of a rift in the room.

What's competitive to you is the question? I mean we are in most games. Not like we are getting blown out a nightly basis.

As for NSH there are very few teams like them in the league. PHO comes to mind as another. Maybe a Tippett or Trotz is the answer in Edmonton finding them is the problem.

Get rid of the entitled minutes, add some youthful enthusiasm and this team might have some fight. Last year we lost but went down with a fight when he had guys like Hartekainen, Vandvelde and O'Mara.

Something that doesn't resemble the 0.250 hockey we've been playing for the past 25 games (IIRC).

I'm hoping the callups play with a fire. Heck even the forgotten black sheep Chorney. Lets not forget that he is playing for a contract and it would be nice for management to have to consider re-signing him because of his play down the stretch.

Since the Oilers called up Chorney, Harty and Petrell did they send anyone down? I can't find this anywhere.

They sent down Green, O'marra and Teubert after the Flames game.

Ha! What makes you think *THIS* blowout will be the catalyst for making change?
