The problem is (Kinda) that team upset the #4 seed so that's why they are playing Saint John.

Almost 7 points per game for them combined? Psh! That's terrible

I don't know why people seem more excited about Zucker than Phillips...have a good feeling about that guy.

I am kind of worried that they might start slacking off. I mean if the competition is this cake...

I know I am just because I've been able to see Zucker play. I've never seen Phillips.

Makes sense, I wouldn't expect these kind of numbers to be maintained in the later series, still glad to see that Coyle has the offense people were questioning and Phillips has also been tremendous despite his doubters. I still have some doubts about Huberdeau but I can't judge any of these series too much until later on. Lets hope our guys can keep up their level of play

I really am thinking that Coyle is ready now for the NHL. Hopefully we don't rush him though.

If he legitimately wins a spot, I'd love having him in the NHL next year. His game seems perfectly suited to be on a line with Heatley and Koivu.

zucker on wing or you could throw larsson on that line, interchange larsson and phillips at center

Fletcher himself has said that Coyle is really close to being NHL ready.

While BC finished 13th, they are a lot better than that. They quit on their coach in the regular season, and he was fired right before the playoffs.

They are more like an 8-9 team. Carrier is a top 5 D in the league, they have a young but very good offense, and Cadorette has been good in net.

SJ is still pummeling them. So far, in 18 playoff periods, SJ has won 15 and tied 3 (despite playing the crap out of their 4th line a couple of times already).

The scary thing about Galiev-Coyle-Phillips is that if you concentrate on them, you still have to face Huberdeau-Gauthier-Jurco.

Our 3rd line (Tesink-MacAulay-Villemaire) is about the equivalent to a normal 2nd line.

Phillips will need some seasoning, when I saw him in Traverse City there was a tendency to do things that worked at the Junior level that won't fly at the pro level.

Remember how our 4th line used to be a 2nd line....

Now it's a third

Baie Comeau IMO have a top 3 offense, they're D isn't where'd you want it to be, and they're goaltending is top 10 but like bottom tier.

It's just that SJ is soo good, if Bac played Shawi, the games would be much closer, lets not forget how Bac started their year.

I would bet Brodin, Granlund, Coyle, and one of Larsson/Bulmer make the team unless they get Parise/Suter.

I just think it's high end talent or bust with bringing in players and its time to see what the kids have.

I think Bulmer out of all those guys (coyle next) could do with some seasoning in the AHL before they get a permanent gig in the NHL. Not saying he'd spend the season down there or even that he looked out of place his 9 games here, but playing in the AHL would give him some valuable "feeling out" time to define his boundaries and role before he hits the NHL. guys watching him tell me he was relatively tame while he was here--hard to believe, but he has more levels of abrasiveness and I think he could fine tune it with some games with the Aeros.

There's a couple big question marks for Phillips, and he seems to be a top 6 or bust kind of prospect. With concerns about Phillips' skating lessened, it's mostly as FRB pointed out, a lot of what Phillips does won't translate to the NHL. Sometimes that means the guy finds a way to elevate his game and perform his own "NHL moves" but a lot of the time that means the guy becomes a career AHLer because you can't just walk defensemen like that at the NHL level.
