does that actually do anything to further development? being so ridiculously dominant...Confidence level boost, sure. But if it's too easy can't you easily develop bad habits? This seems fairly challenge free. Wish I had the opportunity to see him play there and then with the Irish.

He wasn't able to go to NCAA yet, but wanted a more rigorous schedule than playing MN High School. Best option he had considering the NCAA's refusal to admit CHL players.

Im a little suprised he didnt play in the USHL--I know the league well, its a far cry from Major Junior in Canada--your aforementioned junior league is much better as well. Im sure there is a good reason, however its not to get great competition.

Iirc the tean that has his rights dissed his dad, so its normal for him to not wanna play there.

Seriously thi, bchl has produced some great talent brett hull for example.

I am not 100% on this but could have he done post secondary program where he can attend collagr and play i am sure his dad would put him with bjugatad

Sweet, Coyle uses tennis gauze on his stick! Phillips with the Sakic. Nice choice.

Nikon D3. (Protip, image properties ) However, if I understood correctly, keppel isn't the one who took the picture.

Beaten to it by 3 minutes, wonder what took me so long.

It's not easy to see in that pic, but Phillips' current stick is white. It is really weird to see (white stick with white tape).

Is Coyle another prospect, we have to sign by this summer or we lose him?

You know, I'm not so sure. He was drafted out of the NCAA which in theory gives him 4 years but not sure how bolting to the CHL changes things. Maybe a question for Russo.

I have a feeling we don't have to worry about that.

And, no lie, I literally had a dream where Benoit Pouliot got re-drafted in the top 5 (not by us). Like, this year re-drafted. No idea where that came from. He had a really nasty stringy beard too.

Is that like that stupid Verison commercial where that Flyers' beard gets an assist?

Way worse than that. Like Daniel Stern from Home Alone patchy and stringy.

I imagine the rule is that "you have to sign within x years of drafting" but stipulating "if prospect is in college, that year doesn't count [up to x times]" as well as another rule for Europe. In that case, he wouldn't need to be signed this offseason. However, that's all conjecture, he could easily be in the Kuemper boat from last year.

I can't see it possibly being an issue though. He's not likely to see any benefit from re-entering the draft. Kuemper could have been a concern because he was coming off a record breaking season and is a prospect for a team with a glut of depth in net. Another team could have selected him in the draft and put him higher on their depth chart. Coyle's not going to see any benefits like that. Signing with the Wild has him in Houston next season with current linemate Phillips, gives him a long-shot chance at the team out of training camp, and puts him pretty high on the list for injury callups assuming he doesn't make the team outright. Houston's one of the more desirable AHL teams at this point as well. Fletcher obviously wants to get him locked up and settled, so I can't see any chance there'd be a problem with him.

When we traded Khudobin last year we got an unsigned prospect from Boston. Who is he and do we still have his rights?

IIRC Khudobin was traded for Jeff Penner (AHL depth player in Houston) and Mikko Lehtonen. Lehtonen isn't good enough to crack an NHL roster, but refuses to play in the AHL. I think he was in FEL last year and might have played KHL this year. He's extremely unlikely to ever play in North America again.
