Ooh some more to throw in here:

Jonathan Toews will play for the Winnipeg Jets

Florida will name a captain (Brian Campbell) and make the playoffs every single one of the five years

The Minnesota Wild will win the Cup but after Heatley retires

Toews will sign with Winnipeg or they will trade for him? If they trade for him, so you say they'll be giving up Evander Kane+Burmistrov+1st rounder? Yeah I very much doubt that.

Way more likely Toews wins another Cup in Chicago

I went with bold predictions that are still somewhat realistic and relevant to current times.

But yes, it's fun to make the really outlandish ones.

Cowen-Karlsson is the best if not one of the best top pairings in the league. Zibanejad becomes the next Evander Kane.

Erik Karlsson will win 3 of the next 5 Norris trophies. One season he will get injured and miss 40 games.

Erik Karlsson will top 100 points once and finish 2nd overall in scoring and win the Hart.

Alfredsson will not retire after this season in 2012, or in 2013... he will play until 2014.

When Alfredsson retires Karlsson will get the C and no one will complain.. not even Spezza.

2013-14 Stanley Cup Champions.... The Ottawa Senators.

Turris, Cowen, Spezza will all still be Ottawa Senators in five years.

Eric Lindros will be elected to the HHOF before 5 years are up. As will Makarov.

Ottawa retires #11 on opening night 2014 as they raise his sweater as well as the Stanley Cup Banner. This will be the hottest ticket in Senators regular season history...topping Gretzky's last game in Canada.

2016 Opening night - Retire Chris Phillips #4 - Because why the heck not!

Crosby, sadly, will no longer be in the NHL in 5 years.

Bryan Murray will move up to Team President and Tim Murray will take over as GM sometime in the next 5 years.

The NHLPA will accept the new NHL alignment during negotiations when it is revealed that 2 NEW franchises will be awarded to even up the conferences.
One new team, the Markham Majors, the other the Quebec Nordiques, with both teams in the conference with Ottawa.

Tampa and Florida move out to join the conference with the capitals and carolina, and the Islanders move to Hartford to join the conference with Ottawa.

Phoenix moves to Seattle/Portland.

Toronto never gets past the first round of playoffs, if even ever making the playoffs.

Ottawa/Boston become the big 1/2 rivalry.
Boston wins the cup next 2 years to form a dynasty (thanks Toronto)

Vancouver just never gets to win the cup.

A group of NHL players sue the NHL over concussion problems.

The NHL and NHLPA finally adopt mandatory safety helmets and chin straps.

The goalie pads are made smaller, and the net made shallower and taller.

-Karlsson and Silverberg are 1, 2 in scoring for defense.
-Spezza gets "C" Karlsson and Smith get "A"
-Lehner is top 5 goalie in NHL
-Ottawa trades Anderson (sorry) to a struggling New Jersey looking for a goaltender for Zach Parise (Someone can dream)
-Ottawa signs Kessel stealing him from Toronto
-Turris becomes top 2nd line center in NHL
-Silverberg wins calder
-Karlsson wins norris
-Sens win cup

Silfverberg is not a defense man

I highly doubt that Parise is still around with NJD when Lehner is a top 5 goalie in the league and at the same time for Anderson still a prime player to trade straight up for Parise.

I like everything else but Kessel will never sign with us. Nice bold prediction though. I'll take you out for a coffee if it comes true.

Part of his bold prediction must have been Silfverberg's rash decision to switch positions at 20 years of age.

He said Silverberg not Silfverberg.

Silverberg must be the new spectacular college free agent signing Murray will make in 2 years.

Well played Erik Alfredsson, well played.
