Devils may have to move Parise

Interesting article from the NY post about the devils financial trouble which may force them to trade Parise. The devil's are on pace to lose 20 million dollars this year. They could make a bit back by having a few playoff gates but not enough to erase the massive amount they will lose.By the sounds of this they can't even afford to take back a bunch of money which would mean prospects and draft picks. Very interesting.

So why add even more salary in Ponikarovsky for this year?

Gotta suck for Devils fans if they have to move Parise. He'd be able to fetch some pretty good prospects and/or picks though.

The New York Post has always been up the Devil's ******* when it comes to money and financial ****. I doubt Lou trades Parise for anything.

I'd find it hard to believe that any proposal moving Parise to Dallas doesn't include Jack Campbell.

Probably to replace some bigger tickets that might be traded.

Pretty much.

And I'm perfectly fine moving Campbell if it means acquiring (and then signing) Parise.

When I read this my nuts started to tingle. I am so tired of the Devils fans (who might I add are fair whether fans; at least out by me) saying their teams are so damned good and when they suck they just remind me of all their post season success (except for when they play the NYR LOL).

So to lose Parise even though they said it would be a cold day in hell they would ever trade him/lose him would tickle me pink.

Now for the REAL Jersey Fans.. I feel bad for right now. They are going to lose this year or next year their number one goalie and one of the best damned goalies ever in this sports history to retirement. They are dealing with losing all their best players. Hand cuffed themselves with that monstrosity of a signing (Kovalchuk) and have no real prospects (minus H). So I hope their future gets brighter for the true fan.

I honestly LOVE when the Rangers, Islanders, Devils are on top of their game (been since 1993-1994 since that has been) and I cant wait for all three teams to hopefully be up there in the standings and the games mean so much more (like Rangers versus Boston).

So here is a Hockey Fan (albeit biased Rangers Fan) saying I hope your team gets better, but with Parise, I am laughing if it does come down to having to trade/lose in Free Agency ONLY because I get to laugh at the knuckleheads at work and on the island who never HEARD of the Devils before they made it to the conference finals in 94 and then rifled off some impressive Stanley Cup wins in the years after.

This is the big factor in getting the best value.

I was thinking about adding Campbell

How about:

To Dallas:
Parise
Conditional 1st if he does not sign a contract.

To NJ:
Campbell
Fistric

Christ, move the franchise to a market that can support it. If you have to trade Parise because you can't afford to pay them then you are failing.

I don't think the money issue holds any water. Parise is set to make, what, around $3m for the remainder of the year? They'd make that up easy with a couple of home playoff games, and it'd be much easier to make the playoffs with Parise than without. Then they can just not resign him in the off-season, thereby saving the maximum amount of money.

Of course, there are other concerns than money that might cause Lou to move Parise.

Can we get that 1st back if he doesn't re-sign?

But thats a HUGE blow to the devils losing him for nothing. If he's not coming back they need to get as much as they can.

Kunitz + prospect not named Morrow, Despres, Harrington, Bennet + pick (not 1st)

for

Parise

Penguins get help in Crosby's absence and the Devils get a very capable winger back in return at a better cap hit. Basically Parise-Lite.
