News And Notes
Quote:
“WE DID A GREAT JOB OF HOLDING THEM TO 45 SHOTS.”
- Panthers head coach Kevin Dineen, after Saturday's win in Winnipeg.

Primary Target

Scott Hartnell, aka The Beard, has hair that even Kris Versteeg finds unbecoming of a hockey player. Still, Hartnell has been the unsung hero of the Flyers, leading them in goals and +/-. Also he's not concussed, so he's got that one going for him (knock on wood).

Red Hot Cat Of The Night

Kris Versteeg, who leads the team in goals with 19 and points with 42, had 3 points last game and a shootout goal.

Neither. He played last game and may very well play tomorrow. These are just possible lines. We have an excess of healthy forwards now, a nice problem to have. No idea who is actually going to play just yet.

The Flyers have the injury bug badly and the Panthers need to take advantage of that for sure. Bryzgalov hasn't been playing terrific lately either, it would nice if the offense can generate. Guys other than Versteeg will have to step up their game for sure. As I said in another thread, we're going to have play very very physical or the Flyers are going to tire us out quickly.

Love the quote from Dineen haha. Guess we can expect Upshall in if Skille is again out? Man is he injury prone.

Was after the shootout, he just turned it that way. He's a character for sure!

Great quote.

Is he, though? I'm guessing he's still sore from the initial injury and didn't get a new injury.

Sure would be nice to head into the ASB on a winning streak. Not sure if the team is ready to play solidly enough to do that. I will, as always, continue to hope for another 2 points. Go Panthers!

I have my own hockey tomorrow night (damn these Tues. games ) so I won't be watching. Hopefully we can finish strong. I have a good feeling about the game tomorrow. With Versteeg getting out of his slump, I look for him to continue it tomorrow against his former club.

I think with all these injuries and Ovies suspension, we're getting games against two teams who are not near full strength, especially the Flyers. If we don't take advantage I'm going to start worrying.

Yeah, you're probably right.

on a side note: Man, I hope Flash can bust out tomorrow night. He looked skyward on a couple chances against the Jets. You just know he is feeling the pressure to score. I think once he gets one he will breathe a bit easier and they will start going in like they did earlier in the season. I think tomorrow he gets back on the board.

Kopecky seems due for one too.

Take a look at his last 5 games. He's been playing really well. They probably want to rest Theo and give him even more time off.

Kulikov is out two months with a knee injury. Looks like Tallon will have to make a trade to pick up a depth d-man. This is where our season could be lost...

I know, Im going to have to get over it, he has, and if theo is not 100%, which i believe, this is smart.

I try to give you and him both kudos after a good game.

AS ive said before, its mostly that his mistakes are so memorable that makes it hard for me to trust him. I am seeing less of them each game, so although viscerally its tough, cerebrally its a good call.
